Starting a Pine Needle Basket with a Center
This video shows how to start a pine needle basket with a wood center. I like to work a wrapped row as my first row. Look for Part 2 "Finishing the Wrapped Row" to complete this first row.
In drilling the holes for my wood basket center I used 3/32” drill bit. The holes are approximately 1/4” apart maybe slightly closer than that and the holes are around 4/32” from the outside edge. After drilling the holes you will need to sand the backside of the wood center. Save the staining and varnish finish after you have made the holes.
