On May 30th, 2015, Josh Sigurdson of Winnipeg Alternative Media hosted the Winnipeg's Great Canadian March Against Bill C-51 later known as The Peoples' March Against Anti-Terror Bill C-51 (also known as the police state bill). About 450 people showed up to protest Bill C-51, Stephen Harper and Justin Trudeau. While the rule at this protest was that it wouldn't be a platform for politicians to demagogue their campaign and that only the people could come up and talk, we couldn't help but invite Robert Falcon Ouellette up considering he's a supporter of Bill C-51. It was a disaster waiting to happen but Robert Falcon Ouellette seemed to be okay with talking at the event which one has to give him props for no matter how much they disagree with him as that takes some serious bravery. That said, he seems completely disconnected from what C-51 actually is. Several veterans were in attendance protesting C-51 and he acted as if everyone was children and that most people in the army or in the Naval Reserves as he is supports the bill. He acted like it's OUR side fear mongering, as if none of us had read the bill. Well most of us have and we have to ask Ouellette, has he? With Peter MacKay jumping off the train before it crashes, C-51 has become an issue that will decimate the Conservative and Liberal Party this next election. This fear mongering about Canadians waging jihad is absurd as there are a couple people who've converted while 99.99999% of the country haven't. Why let one person's actions affect everyone and threaten their livelihood? Would we ban a race of people from shopping because a few people robbed a store of that race? Of course not! Then we have the fact that we're dealing with manufactured terrorism. The US armed and funded Al Qaeda, armed and funded the Taliban, armed and funded Iraq twice, armed and funded the Muslim Brotherhood and armed and funded ISIS as well as "accidental" further arming after obvious radicalization. So none of this makes sense. You cause a problem, you get a reaction and then you get the solution which means infringing every single person's liberties? That's the Hegelian Dialectic and Goebbels would be proud. Robert Falcon Ouellette, please consider this before this issue deep-sixes your career.
