Exploring the woodlines around Cave Hill
WA4WD is a dedicated to exploring the outback of Western Australia. The team travels to remote areas for off the grid bush camping. The Aussie Bush Cook prepares all our meals in the bush. The WA4WD team believes we should do no damage to the bush, ourselves or our vehicles (they are needed to get us home).
The WA4WD team have been camping in the outback for more than 50 years, but we continue to learn from each trip. The team must make repairs without assistance if necessary. Water conservation is very important when away from civilisation.
The team looks for abandonned towns, lost cemeteries and forgotten railway lines. The focus is generally from the Pilbara south.
If anyone can see another camper, then we are too close.
Two members trained with the Australian Army many decades ago and use those bush skills to find tracks and navigate through the outback.

One off audio kit with headsets to control the noisey environment inside the cab of an Oka. I made this from an aviation audio control system with a simple 3 input mixer and pre amplifier and other small mods.

This time, the team explores part of Hunt's Track from Woolgangie through Yerdanie Rock to Gnarlbine Rock. On the way we stop at the Prince of Wales mine and discover some more old Woodlines.
This is part 1 of that exploration.

This is a trip to locate Weeli Wolli Springs, where we find the remarkable dewatering of major mines has changed the way water flows in this beautiful gorge, I am not sure it is for the better though.
A sudden storm and I forgot rule No 1, "never camp in a creek bed". A tense few hours and some emergency planning to make sure we stay safe. With lots of lightning and louds claps of thunder.
