Taking advantage of the front facing railfan window on an R62 (7) line trainset to help complete my video survey of the Flushing Line. After an hour of waiting I got lucky with a good quality window and decided to ride it past Times Square to GCT. Enjoy everybody.
I may splice this footage into my existing RFW Flushing Line videos to create an updated full line vid.

Taken from the front of a summer special R32 and R42 on the J as they runs from Broad St in the Nassau St Subway to Jamaica Center. The segment in the subway is in an R32 and from Essex to Jamaica Center is in an R42.
The Jamaica Line has an express segment from Myrtle Ave to Marcy Ave, but it is in the peak direction only. Also note the R42 trainsets still running in J/Z service. These were built 8 years after the R32's, but because of Budd's better build quality the R32s can still pass as near new while the R42's are turning into rust buckets, despite being made from stainless steel. There was also a GO in effect having all outbound J trains run express from Myrtle to Broadway Jct.
For those of you who don't know for the last several years the NYCTA has been rotating its fleet of 200 or so remaining 1962 vintage Budd R32's out onto above-ground during the summer months from their more usual C routing because they have better air conditioning more suited to running out in the sun. Previously they had been used on the A-train with its long Stretches to the Rockaways. This year the NYCTA took the time and effort to move the fleet to East New York Yard for use on the Jamaica Elevated.

Amtrak Train 29, the westbound Capitol Limited, passed through the Garrett Park MARC Station at speed with P42DC on the front. Typically T29 heads out of DC on Track #1, but today it was put on Track #2, which somewhat impacted my shot. Another railfan from Virginia had used the holiday weekend to come up and stake out this location.

It was 18 degrees out so what better time to spend a couple of hours at Princeton Junction getting some sweet NEC video action. Note the relative brightness of the traditional headlights and the ACS-86's LED highlights. Videos were shot between 5:15pm and 6:30pm on a Saturday evening in January 2015.
