I noticed that ultrawide lenses reveal the interaction between IBIS and rolling shutter in video by creating a strange wobbly breathing effect.
This effect is made even more noticeable when the footage is digitally stabilized in post.
I shot this footage at a high shutter speed (1/200) so the image would remain fairly crisp after it had been deshaken.
Shot on a full spectrum converted Nikon Z5 with a Tokina 11-16mm/2.8 lens and a UV+IR filter that blocks visible light and allows though the light our eyes cannot see. This was shot using the custom white balance preset I had made for 720nm.
Background noise arrangement composed, recorded, and programmed by Kyle Clements, 2023.

I was feeding my pet spider some flightless fruit flies, when two of them made an escape attempt. They didn't make it far, however, landing right into a spiderweb built by one of my non-pet house spiders.
Upon landing in the web, the fruit flies must have gotten cold, as they began shivering. Fortunately, a friendly spider came right over and knit a blanket for the fruit fly. Once the fruitfly was wrapped up tight like a burrito, the spider gave the fly hug, followed by a big, long kiss.
What a nice spider.

It's curious how under the moonlight the plants remain dark, and don't glow white like they do under sunlight.

While camping on a small island in Lake Opeongo in Algonquin provincial park, I set up my Nikon Z6 with the 14-30mm/4 for an evening sunset timelapse, hoping to capture a majestic sunset. While the clouds did not cooperate, I was lucky enough to have my batteries hold out long enough for a moonset as well.
Sequence taken:

July 31st, 2022
Z6 set to Program automatic with auto ISO turned ON.

When I first got my little land urchin, I was a little intimidated by the idea of picking him up.
But how? He's so prickly!
If you reach down and grab the little spike potato, you will have one unhappy hedgie.
To lift up a hedgehog, use two hands, and swoop in from below.

How do you follow the rule of thirds?
Easy!
Instead of pointing the camera straight at something, putting the horizon dead-center, pick which half of the image you like more, and make that part take up 2/3, rather than 1/2 of the composition.
Done!
That's all you have to do to follow the rule of thirds.

During some exceptionally foggy weather, I took my camera out for a walk over a bridge. The handheld footage was so rough and shaky I considered it unusable.
I ran the footage though some AI de-shaking/stabilization and frame interpolation software (Topaz Video AI) with the settings deliberately cranked way too high, and the video AI made some interesting mistakes.
I opened up FL Studio 11 and made a quick track that seemed somewhat appropriate for the kinds of railing aliasing errors I was seeing, then I ran it though some AI audio mastering software (Ozone 11 elements)
I used to try to avoid using paid software and rely on open source image manipulation software, so the work was about what could be done with tools accessible to all, but I feel like in the current age of AI art-making, that is no longer a viable approach to making relevant art within the digital aesthetic.
