This year's midterm races were of course the most expensive midterms in the history of the United States. A lot of Republican donors lost a lot of money, right? Running candidates at the state level. People for governor, people for Secretary of State all over the country held the Democratic party, managed to flip four state legislatures and governorships. That is massive. I know the Republicans still probably gonna get the house as all the votes are still counted, but you lost four states. That's a strong indictment of the Republican party. But more importantly, it's a very bad investment for all of those right wing mega donors who pumped millions of dollars into these races only to get literally nothing in return. So according to conservative CNN commentator Alice Stewart, she says that she's already spoken to some of these donors and they say, We're done. We're done with Donald Trump. Because these donors believe that Donald Trump is to blame, and to a degree, he certainly is. But his influence over these statewide races where he got his handpicked people at the top of the ticket for governor's, Tudor Dixon, Doug Ma, Kerry Lake, Lake, they went down in flames and a lot of big money. Republicans lost a lot of money, and they're not willing to do it again. They're moving on. They want nothing to do with Donald Trump. This is what Alice Stewart had to say, Big money donors are telling me tonight, Tuesday, they're ready to turn the page on Donald Trump. They now see he is an anchor on the party. And this is not just people that have been supportive of Trump. These are Trump allies. They're realizing under Trump, we lost the House, the Senate, the White House, and now we are in a critical midterm election. And his appointed candidates have lost significantly. He is an anchor on the party. And I do believe that is probably the best way to phrase that, because that's exactly what happened during these midterms. Six months ago, republicans predicted they were gonna pick up 70 to 80 seats. Now, if they do regain control of the house, which of course is actually in question, it may be four, five seats, maybe, maybe even two seats, that that's not exactly something to be proud of. And again, a lot of that has to do with Donald Trump sticking his nose, where Republicans didn't want him sticking it in the first place, and now he's supposed to announce he's running for president next Tuesday. Donors are saying, No, we don't want it. But what's even funnier though is that Alice Stewart is kind of presenting this as like, Oh, suddenly these donors are done. No, that's not what happened. These donors have been done with Donald Trump for a long time. Most Of them have already moved on to other people. Mostly Ron DeSantis, who has a larger war chest than Donald Trump. DeSantis is sitting on more money through his packs than Trump has in his packs. And most of it has come from people giving more than $200. Trump is the other way around. He's getting a lot of money from small time donors, but those donors are tapped out, and those donors are gonna be off as these results keep coming in that show Republicans getting shellacked because Trump, again inserted himself where he didn't belong.
