Its late here so will add a proper desc soon and explanation but long story short you can now play linked games in Supermodel at fullspeed. Reason this video is labeled test is because I was both players (one with each hand lol) but soon enough I shold start uploading a full playthrough I did with a cousin.

Was offline for a few days, played BallisticNG again after a long while and then felt like editing some of my impressions with that. Didn't showcase too much custom stuff from the Workshop specifically because I got all the footage while online (...so no downloading more cool stuff outside of what I had at hand)
That's all, nothing too fancy, just something to remember that bit of fun :)

Kept ya waiting, huh?
Consider this an early Christmas gift and maybe a Happy New Year one too if I don't show up with something else before 2024 breaks my window and starts yelling RIIIIIIIDGE RACER (you heard of that one? Wait...is it RING-)
A pretty overdue start to adapt this idea to cover Kart's history from start to end, starting with the surprisingly old roots this fangame actually has. There's at the very minimum a second video on the works to follow up this one, though I cannot guarantee whether that would be done before the year ends or not due to stuff that you could expect to take care about when Christmas is approaching less than a week.
But I hope that you enjoy the presentation of these humble beginnings :)

Recorded on September 27, 2021. Played at Delay 2 (Venezuela to US) with Flycast Dojo GGPO Test Build 10.
Been playing this for the past days and doing some labbing with Orville because of the fact that, thanks to Flycast getting GGPO rollback netcode, I can play with people around the world without having to spend an eternity to find someone willing to play with me (as I'm not forced to use incredibly high delay values to play).
Huge thanks to jdestroyer97 for these matches; these were my first matches against someone that also mained Orville...and it was a quite interesting experience (notice that I lost many times because I got impatient and tackled first...and since the tackle basically has armor all the way through, the tackle that started last always wins), but also tons of fun as my other online matches (which I will upload sooner or later) with the bonus of having to know about playing against my own character...and having the INSANE satisfaction of having landed the Critical Art for the kill (at least 100% the first time; it felt good to land it the second time...but choked horribly at my chance to win, whiffed it the third time lmao)

This one is actually a bit harder than you think. You might have noticed that there's a sort of "branching path" shown before each fight (or might have known of if you actually have played this before)...getting to Mahler is a bit strict.
The requierments are that you shall not lose more than 50% of your health in any round against Sanman (which also means that you can't lose a round)...and fighting Sanman requires you the same but during Bahn's fight. I don't know if it matters if you fail in the second stage and get sent to fight Grace and Raxel in this, but I know that if you lose over 50% health at any round against Sanman, you're sent to Jane (and with Bahn it sends you to Tokyo instead; I think that you're stuck to Jane next if that happens).
...So you gotta do clean work with both Bahn and Sanman to have a shot at Mahler at all...and I also got a surprise Kuhn fight (which from what I can see and have heard, you have to beat Mahler under a certain total time, and likely do so without continuing). I could NOT beat it though because of, well, the insane speed and damage it pulled out, along with being a one-try fight (no continues).
Wanted this to be a 1CC run but B.M. kicked my kneecaps.
Still pretty tight, maybe next time I'll get the victory against Kuhn (which unlocks him) AND B.M. first try for complete domination :)
(BTWW the DC version has a mode for playing with randomized opponents; this lets you fight with other characters regardless of the result, but the path requeriments will stay as indicated as whatever stage you end up fighting at. This would also include the Kuhn fight, but in any case you probably would play that mode for either a fresh spin or to try and get Delsol out of nowhere to unlock)

6 years after Temjin went out for a ride in the original Virtual-On, I finally got around with my new PC to play through VOOT 5.66 (The NAOMI version through Flycast) using the 10/80 Special, which is exclusive to 5.66...and since it wasn't playable in the Dreamcast version (which was the one I could emulate easily the most on my laptop back then), I couldn't get to play with until the last few years.
...and even then I hadn't got around to it until now. Things that happen, y'know
Anyways, it was cool to see so many people nostalgic for the original game (my video playing it is the highest viewed one lol) so I thought on giving its sequel a proper spin once more, this time with the 10/80 which is pretty unique for a few reasons.
10/80 Special itself is basically the classic Temjin model from the first game (though with a gray color scheme; you can recolor it to the classic colors with the customization disc to bring the color with a VMU in NAOMI, but I didn't have it at hand), not only in appearance...but also in abilities. While it does have new turbo attacks that are weaker but faster than the original versions, it does NOT have airdashing, a mechanic added in this game but that was left out of this machine since its supposed to resemble the first game's Temjin...no airdashing in that regard.
5.66 already has a few new nods to the original game through Stein-Vok's stage, Autobahn, using Fei-Yen's theme from VO-OMG), and Apharmd-C being fought in Space Dock (which was Apharmd's stage in VO-OMG) as well, and 10/80 Special's stage is Waterfront (Dorkas's stage in OMG) , which is the only one you don't see in this run. Unfortunately Vertebrate Shaft, a remade version of Raiden's stage from it, is still stuck to Versus mode since it wasn't given to a new machine here.
The VR select theme in this specific version (5.66 NAOMI) also has a backing beat similar to the select theme in the first game, a nice detail that's actually lost in the modern ports since they use the recorded Dreamcast soundtrack (instead of the slightly different variants played with real time sounds in this version). That's why I ended up uploading a bunch of music from this version years ago...and sorry that I got messy with it/never finished uploading everything.
It was still fun to get a run out of this legend-turned-legacy underdog in this game, and had a long time since last time I went for a Virtual-On run. And yes, as the 5 seconds of text at the start indicaed, I spliced out a lot of deaths in this run (mostly thanks to Raiden lol) but I'm working on a montage where you will get to see what went wrong so many times when fighting it :)
Thanks for watching!

EDIT: RetroBox release is now avaliable! Get it in the description below, it already includes the Arcade Music!
Hello everybody! Here is a gameplay with the Toyota Celica (My car of preference in SRC) in the Arcade mode of SEGA Rally Championship, but with the Arcade music and co-pilot (Game voices) too! The original PC game uses the Saturn voices as normal due to being ported from there, but I found the arcade version voices and replaced them in the WAVE folder, as well as I got the Arcade ver. music and used it ingame.
Oh, and the D3D version (The one I always use) allows you to choose the weather, holding Up (Default/Day), Down (Evening), Left (Night) or Right (Fog) when the track is loading, and you can noticed I used that to play the Lakeside track at evening.
While the arcade music for the game will be packed in the release of SRC in RetroBox (The page mentioned in the VF video), you can download here the arcade voices, as you only need to follow the instructions in the RAR. Enjoy the video!
