Government tells 87-year-old Tampa woman her social security benefits will be held until she's 100
Government letter clarified she owes more than $237,000 in excessive charges; this is the second time her advantages have been held

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Mamie Walker is weary of the public authority suddenly removing her government backed retirement benefits, leaving her incapable to pay her lease and purchase food. She said

It's all a direct result of a mix-up nobody can clarify.

Walker hasn't got benefits for the beyond two months. She got a letter from the U.S. Government backed retirement Administration saying she owes more than $237,000 in "excessive charges" and will not get benefits again until September, 2034. She would be 100 years of age.

"You realize I ain't got that sort of cash, child," Walker said. "In the event that I did I wouldn't call you about this."

Walker said she's alarmed regarding how she'll cover her bills and her property manager is as of now attaching late expenses.

"My children don't not have anything to attempt to help me, so I'm simply down in an opening," Walker said.

This is the second time Walker reached Better Call Behnken for help after her federal retirement aide benefits were cut. In 2019, the public authority guaranteed Walker owed more than $200,000 in old understudy loan obligation. Walker, who never attended a university, had no clue about what was going on with that.

In those days, a Social Security Administration agent pledged to Investigator Shannon Behnken that they would examine. Walker's advantages were then reestablished and there's been no issue, as of not long ago.

Walker's child, Morrison Walker, said he's tired and stressed over his mom.

"She worked for her entire life for her government backed retirement cash to come in, and presently they're taking it from her," he said.

A Social Security Administration delegate said this would be explored again and they'll attempt to help Walker in getting her advantages back.
