This may be the best ad campaign I’ve seen in years.
South Dakota ramps up their meth awareness campaign by simply changing their headline to “Meth. We’re On It.”
While this ad campaign is being ridiculed and mocked around the world, it actually has gone viral because of the headline. People are interpreting it to mean the entire state is addicted to meth. What they’re really saying is “they’re on the case” of trying to solve the meth problem in the state of South Dakota.
In 72 hours, this has gone worldwide, which draws attention to the state – and isn’t that the point of advertising?
Their website, https://www.OnMeth.com is a resource for those who are addicted to meth to get help, and is extremely well done.
However, there is a video they produced about this same topic in 2016 which should be added to the front page of the website.

Tim spent 25 years in broadcast radio industry in the United States, and walked away from his corporate America career in 2017. He was responsible for more than $40 million per year in advertising for two very large FM radio stations in St. Louis, Missouri.
His daily job while in radio involved writing, creating, and producing commercials for every type of business imaginable: from multi-million-dollar homes, to ice cream, to furniture…and everything in between.
Tim started his own company, Tim Burt Media, in 1999. He has written commercials for such Fortune 50 companies such as Burger King (Antigua), Toyota, South African Airways, Graybar, and many others.
In 2016, Tim was approached by a political party in Ghana to help with their election campaign. The commercials that Tim wrote helped them double their vote total in only their second election, finishing third overall.
