Though he was not the one that found Lightbringer, he earned King Destin's praise and attained San d'Oria Rank 9. Now, he will work on San d'Oria Mission 9-1. Heorot resumes in his Mog House in San d'Oria. He heads outside. Northern San d'Oria (time 1:13): Heorot teleports to Bastok Mines. Bastok Mines (time 1:47): Heorot chats with Zopago in the Chocobo Stables. He gets the Day 30 status report for Amber Beauty, his now grown-up chocobo. While taking Amber for a regular walk to the Konschtat Highlands, he searches while she is distracted. He finds a Dirty Handkerchief temporary key item. This is what he needs for the Chocobo Whistle quest. Heorot also sells off some loot to Neigepance. Once Heorot has finished caring for Amber, he teleports to Bastok Markets. Bastok Markets (time 8:14): Heorot talks to the Artisan Moogle at H-7 to get another free Scroll of Instant Warp. Then, he teleports to Southern San d'Oria. Southern San d'Oria (time 9:38): Heorot visits Hantileon at I-11 in the Chocobo Stables. Hantileon gives Heorot the Chocobo Whistle! It is neckwear. While it is equipped, he can use it to summon the chocobo registered to it. Heorot teleports back to Bastok Mines. Bastok Mines (time 12:25): Heorot talks to Zopago at the Chocobo Stables. Enough time has passed that Heorot receives the Day 31 status report for Amber Beauty. While Heorot takes her for a long walk to the Pashhow Marshlands, he runs into Dietmund of Jeuno. I wonder if this scene requires completing the Beastmaster unlock quests. Heorot also registers to to call Amber Beauty with his Chocobo Whistle. Amber Beauty is registered as she is now. If and when her stats improve, Heorot will have to register her again to get those improvements. Now, the Chocobo Whistle is limited to 25 uses. To continue using it after those 25 uses, Heorot will have to pay 10,000 gil to a Vana'diel Chocobo Society representative, like Hantileon or Zopago. Fortunately, there is now a way around that. Heorot teleports to Upper Jeuno. Upper Jeuno (time 18:41): In the Chocobo Stables pen at G-7, Heorot trades his Chocobo Whistle to Mapitoto, the Tarutaru disguised as a chocobo. Since he has completed the quest "Full Speed Ahead!", she will register the Chocobo Whistle in his Trainer's Whistle. Heorot obtains the Mounts key item "Chocobo Companion". They also went to the throne room in Megistris Castle for a scene with King Purpopan, Minister Id, and Fosteil. Now, the party will go to the Big Glittering Windmill in Windmill Hill to investigate with some of Purpopan's and Id's soldiers. Megistris (time 0:25): The party resumes in the church in Megistris City. They go outside and Zoom to the Big Glittering Windmill Tower. Big Glittering Windmill Tower (time 2:36): As the party arrives at the Big Glittering Windmill Tower, a scene takes place with the soldiers that Purpopan and Id sent. The next objective is the Ritual Hall, Inside the Big Glittering Windmill. Armed with the Thief's Key, the party now opens the area's black chests. At G-2 behind the weapon shop, a black chest contains an Amor Seco Essence (アモールの水). In the western storeroom at B-3/B-4, a black chest contains a Purple Eye (パープルアイ). In a storeroom on floor 1F of the tower's base, a black chest at F-4 contains a Sunny Citrine (黄色の宝石). On floor 2F of the tower's base, Poriri at E-4 near the elevator has story info. The party visits the bazaar and picks up a few materials. The player earns the accolade "I Love Shopping" for buying 10 or more items from the bazaar. The party also deposits most of their remaining gold at the bank. They take the elevator at E-4 up the windmill. Inside the Big Glittering Windmill (time 10:28): The party goes up to floor 2F. They take the door at D-3/E-3 to the Ritual Hall. Within, a scene takes place with the soldiers that Purpopan and Id sent. Uh oh, it looks like the trouble came with them. After the scene, it is boss time against Magic Soldier Hypnos (魔兵ヒプノス) and Magic Soldier Thanatos (魔兵タナト). Of the two, Hypnos on the right has more irritating abilities. He can mute party members with Fizzle and put multiple party members to sleep with Kasnooze. He can also boost his guard rate. Thanatos can give himself Tension Burn, which increases his tension when he takes attacks. Thanatos can also heal himself or Hypnos with Midheal. Due to Hypnos's debuffs, taking him out first is a good idea. Resistance to sleep is a good idea. Daston has spells and abilities available that will cure party members of sleep. This is a good time to test out any Coup de Grâce abilities you may have learned. A dispelling ability, such as Rake 'n' Break, is useful if the bosses buff themselves. Notably, be sure to dispel Thanatos's Tension Burn before his tension gets out of hand. At the end of the battle, the bosses leave 5,000 experience points and 3,000 gold. Heorot reaches Thief Level 36 and earns 1 skill point for a total of 7. Hussar reaches Level 30. He learns the Coup de Grâce ability Three Pieces (三枚下ろし) and earns 4 skill points for a total of 4. Daston reaches Level 31 and earns 4 skill points for a total of 11. Afterwards, another scene with Hypnos and Thanatos takes place. The next destination is the throne room in Megistris Castle. The party regains control on floor 2F after the scene. Under Hammers, Daston spends 9 points on the ability Cancel Shot (キャンセルショット). The party goes down to floor 1F and takes the elevator at E-4 back downstairs. Big Glittering Windmill Tower (time 28:29): The party arrives at floor 2F in the tower's base. Poriri at E-4 has story info. The party goes outside and Zooms back to Megistris City. Megistris (time 29:18): The party visits the inn on the lower level of town to get some rest. On the upper level, they enter Megistris Castle at D-2. Megistris Castle (time 30:25): The party goes up to floor 2F. Outside the door to the throne room, Pahapen at G-4 has story info. The party takes the door at G-3/G-4 to the throne room. This triggers a scene with Minister Id and King Purpopan. Hm, old Id seems surprised by the party's return. Unfortunately, he has a strong hold on the ill king. After the scene, the party gains control outside the throne room. Their next objective is to leave the castle. They started by gathering Ekidno Jawbones from the Blazing Karlos in the Syra Hovering Reefs. Then, they gathered Circular Speculatos Blades from the Black Triad in Keves Castle. Now, they will continue by gathering Vollgull Stormwind Wings from Rafale Vollgulls around Hope's Rest in the west of the Agnus Castle Barbican. They cook some more Highly-Piley Ocean's Bounty. The party skip travels to Mulus Depot in the Agnus Castle Barbican in the northwest. They find an NPC to chat with in the depot and another to the west. Beyond the West Perimeter Gate, the party targets Rafale Vollgulls to farm for Vollgull Stormwind Wings. These feathery fiends' flighty antics can be frustrating. On the plus side, there are a couple of skirmishes with elite Rafale Vollgulls. The enemies appear as far west as the Old Road of Rebirth and as far south as Hope's Rest. During the hunt, Lanz masters the Incursor class. Sena, having mastered Guardian Commander, changes her class to Incursor. Lanz changes his class to Lone Exile. Eventually, the party finishes collecting 30 Vollgull Stormwind Wings of the correct rarity. The party skip travels back to the Vinisog Holm Camp, where they rest and save. Previously, he explored the Decayed Mausoleum in the Magic City Goura Ruins. After defeating the Talisman Guardian, he obtained Lido's Talisman. Then, he returned to Zekres and gave the talisman to Asbar. In Zekres Castle, Davilas and Asbar fought Demon Soul Ojaros. That wraps up the Zekres leg of the Version 5.2 storyline. Now, Davilas will go to Bardista to start the next part of the story. Davilas resumes in his house in the Azlan housing area. Outside, he checks his mailbox and receives gold for items that sold on the bazaar. Many thanks to the buyers! Davilas uses the Abyss Jewel to teleport to Bardista Fortress. Bardista Fortress (time 1:38): As Davilas arrives in Bardista Fortress, a scene takes place. With Queen Valeria gone, there is trouble in town. Bardista Castle (time 4:43): After the scene, Davilas gains control at F-4 on floor 1F. He talks to Bolg at C-5. Davilas must take the elevator upstairs and meet with Beltoro. Davilas takes the elevator at B-4/B-5. Upstairs, a scene with Beltoro and Irusha takes place. The Gannon Brothers are terrorizing the town. Beltoro wants to investigate the Gaushia Forest near Zekres, but the path leading there from Belvine is blocked by a boulder. Davilas must go to the Branick Quarry and obtain an axe in the innermost chamber. After the scene, Davilas gains control at G-5 on the castle's upper level. Gepesh at E-5 by the elevator has story information. I believe there is a treasure in the southeast room at E-7, but the door is currently locked. Davilas takes the elevator at E-5 down to the ground floor. Then, he takes the door at G-4/G-5 out of the castle. Bardista Fortress (time 12:18): Davilas heads to the bank and deposits most of his gold. Afterwards, he uses the Abyss Jewel to teleport to the quarry in the Bardia Mountains. Bardia Mountains (time 13:20): Davilas arrives at F-6 in the southeast. He follows the tracks north into the Branick Quarry. Branick Quarry (time 13:50): Just inside the quarry, Davilas boards the mine cart at E-8. It transports him to G-2 in the northeast. At G-1, Davilas exits to the innermost chamber. At D-2 in the chamber, a sparkly spot illuminates a massive pickaxe that the boss, Killer Wheel, left behind. Davilas examines it and obtains the Big Pickaxe (ビッグピッケル) key item. There is some dialogue with Irusha. Davilas's next objective is to go to Belvine Forest West and find the exit to the Gaushia Forest. Davilas uses the Abyss Jewel to teleport to Belvine Forest West. Belvine Forest West (time 15:54): Davilas arrives at G-7 near the exit to Belvine Lake. He heads north. At F-3, Davilas examines the boulder blocking the exit to the Gaushia Forest. He uses the Big Pickaxe to get rid of the boulder. There is some dialogue with Irusha. Davilas must continue east to Gaushia Forest and find a town. Davilas exits east at F-3 to Gaushia Forest. Gaushia Forest (time 18:25): Davilas arrives at A-5 in the west. There is something eerie about these woods. Davilas examines the Abyss Gate nearby to get a new destination on his Abyss Jewel. At D-4, a black chest on the lower level contains 3 pieces of Magic Red Tree Board (魔紅樹の板). At F-4, a red chest contains a Three Imperial Generals Medal (帝国三将軍メダル). By the exit to the Curse Fountain in the northeast, Davilas examines an Abyss Gate at H-3. This adds another new destination to the Abyss Jewel. At E-3, a black chest contains a clump of Twilight Moss (たそがれゴケ). At E-2, Davilas exits north to Tobol Village. Tobol Village (time 24:02): As Davilas arrives in town, a scene with Irusha and Beltoro takes place. They meet a young woman named Tilia. Hm, it seems that she's popular with the kiddos... After the scene, Davilas gains control at B-3 in the northwestern cranberry field. At C-2, a red chest contains a Chaos Berry (カオスベリー). Davilas goes to the northern house and talks to Feane at E-2/E-3. He accepts a Cran Pie to eat. Feane tells him a bit about Tilia. Next, Davilas enters the house to the south and talks to Sondai at D-4. This triggers some more dialogue. Davilas's next destination is the Levin Cave in the west of Gaushia Forest. After this conversation, Sondai at D-4 has story information. At F-6, Davilas examines the Abyss Gate. This adds a new destination to the Abyss Jewel.
