In this episode the BBT dives into the enigma of how to use two PSU in a computer/mining rig. We take you through what to do, how it works and ultimately the science behind it. Remember, we left this open/exposed to show you how to bridge connection. You want to COVER that connection with electrical tap and ensure you don't touch it once its on!! Additionally if you are NOT comfortable you can always buy:
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/5637/cpa-167/Lian_Li_Dual_Power_Supply_Adapter_Cable.htmlNOTE: Ensure one PSU is used for the Motherboard and ALL connections (molexs/sata power connections/ & any other non-GPU connections) The Second PSU should be ONLY used for powering the extra graphics cards ONLY, just the 12v rail connections.
DO NOT USE THE SECOND PSU to power any of the risers...this will create a weird loop back through the MB and potentially nuke it.
Most notability not mentioned in the video but a working model we use is this start-up procedure.
1) Turn on second PSU first
2) Power on Rig
3) Mine
When Shutting down, first power down PC, then turn off second PSU last.
