Kerbal Space Program - Breaking Ground DLC - More Than Just Mecha
The new expansion for Kerbal Space Program adds a bunch of extra mechanics - a real legitimate use for rovers, more reasons to bring scientists and engineers, and of course robotic parts.
Of course, these have been seen in mods in the past, but having them officially maintained really helps the game.
A year after the initial kickstarter Maia released its first public alpha just before Christmas, since then it's had quite a few updates and is bringing its own flavor to the space colony management genre.

The situation is bad, I need to keep a large fleet flying to win battles, but, my fleet cap is tiny and my energy consumption is crazy, able to drain my reserves in under a year. Assuming I can last that long.

In advance of a presentation on the progress of Starship & Super Heavy workers at SpaceX's Boca Chica facility have been adding wings, engins, plumbing and other features in preparation for stacking the entire structure. Even before the presentation it's clear a number of things in the design have changed.
Thanks to everyone who'd shared images of the construction at Boca Chica - in particular
BocaChicaGal who has provided the bulk of the new and interesting data

SpaceX performed the debut launch of their next Generation Starship-Superheavy launch vehicle, and it didn't make it to orbit. But it was still very much a case of Excitment delivered as the vehicle destroyed its launchpad, had engines fail and parts explode as it ascenced, before finally spinning end over end until it was destroyed in a giant cloud of cryogenic propellents.

Ever thought the RCS capabilities of the standard issue kerbal EVA suit were a little underpowered? Well the developers over at Kerbalquest certainly though so.

In the last 6 months there's been a lot of attention paid to a Russian Satellite Kosmos 2543 which was launched in November 2019 as a sub satellite of Kosmos 2542. This is part of a highly classified program, but observations of its behaviour from the ground show that it's likely involved in matching orbits with and inspecting other satellites. In mid July it launched an even smaller object at relatively high speed leading some to suggest that this object is a missile designed to attack other satellites.
As of right now, there's nothing that's a violation of international space law, but that hasn't stopped complaints from NATO members.

Detached is another VR title that puts you in a space suit, floating around and solving problems. It's been in early access for a while and is finally getting a full release with the story fleshed out. The one thing that sets this apart from other similar 'spacewalking' titles is the PVP mode which allows 2 players to capture the flag and help induce motion sickness in their antagonist.

I have too many things to cover, so I thought I'd try rolling them into a single news style video, maybe it's a terrible idea, but who knows.
