Spring Update! The Folgertech FT-5, FT-6 and CR-10S Aero Upgrade!
I'm back! It has been a busy few weeks and people have asked me about the progress on the FolgerTech FT-6 and CR-10S upgrade!
On the FolgerTech FT-6, the build seems to be largely done but it hasn't been the easiest thing to complete! Watch!
Yes, remember that FT-5 I had that was plagued with a warpy bed? While I am saving up for the remaining components to upgrade it, I gave Marlin 1.1.9 a try, bringing the firmware up to date. With babystepping able to compensate on that first layer, it seems there is hope!
And the CR-10S upgrade, where I replaced the entire hot end with a genuine E3D Titan Aero, lightweight E3D motor and EZABL probe. What made this possible? The impressive....yet complicated...Petsfang Aero Evolve!

I'm back! Last weekend I was at the Down East Fantasy Con, held at the Ramada Inn in Ellsworth, Maine. I had my full-size aluminum R2-D2 replica droid with me and I had a steady stream of videos from my channel playing on the monitor! This is a brand new Con my friend put together and it was aimed at being more Fantasy based and Family Friendly, with a lot of special events for kids. Overall it was a good time, despite the location lacking air conditioning on a rather hot hot day! But I think they learned a lot from this first effort and when they plan for next year's event, it will be even better! We met a lot of great people and I did a couple of interviews with others that were there.

Upgrading my Tevo Tornado 3D Printer!
I've had it a year and have not used it a lot. I ran into issues with my Tevo Tornado and was disappointed by the noisy control box and quality of the prints it was producing. I was getting a lot of Salmon Skin effect and had to do some tuning to solve some problems with layer shift on the Y axis. Then, the glass bed broke on me, so it has sat unused for several months. Now it's time to give it a major overhaul and get it printing again!
In this video I am going over what I have replaced in the electronics box, what's worked and what hasn't...and what's next!

Hello! This time, I have an old Lulzbot Taz 6 3D printer that was given to my that was having issues. The tool heads looked like they were about to shake loose when the tool head did a wipe, then it would crash when trying to level. The SE tool head and the HS+ 1.2 mm tool head were both jammed up. After a lot of work, I was able to solve the crashing issue and get both tool heads to print.
Along the way, I did some upgrading - a new Wham Bam Bed System featuring the PEX surface on the spring steel bed.

Like many 3D printers, this one has a few interesting options for more upgrading, such as replacing the X and Y axis with linear rail setups. And newer tool heads. If you want me to test those, let me know - and give me a Super Like, to help fund that effort!!
