As you explore the biggest building of Saffron City known as Silph Co., find the Card Key to open the shutters and use the warp panels. After opening one shutter on the 3F and using the panels after it, you’ll warp to the 7F and the area where your rival awaits. In the 6th battle, his Pidgeotto, Kadabra, and starter Pokémon have fully evolved. Alakazam can be a problem because if it uses Psybeam, it can confuse your Pokémon, and, if it’s running out of HP, it will use Recover. The level begins with a Lakitu throwing Spinies. The first Star Coin is over a lava pit. Cross the lava by riding the platforms and you’ll find the 2nd Star Coin, but watch for spikes attached to stone squares. Board a platform on the line and take the upper path with square stones to find the 3rd Yoshi Coin. After reaching the checkpoint, enter the door to the next room. Throw an indigo block at the Lakitu to knock it off its cloud and board the cloud to ascend. Avoid the spikes on the moving walls and go up the pipe. Knock another Lakitu off its cloud and ascend to find the 4th Star Coin. The next hallway has fireballs lurking from the lava and even bouncing off the walls. Ride the Lakitu cloud and you’ll be able to get the 5th Star Coin under a bridge over lava. Enter the red door and you’ll battle against Ludwig. Ludwig will shoot fire before spinning in his shell. If you jump on Ludwig, he will spin in his shell before doing a big leap. Jump on Ludwig 5 times and you’ll complete the stage.

Wallace can only be battled in the Champions Tournament. His team is entirely Water type. Milotic holding a Rocky Helmet will use Scald to burn opponents and Icy Wind to slow opponents down. When low on HP, it will use Rest and the Marvel Scale ability will take effect to raise its Defense. Sharpedo will use Zen Headbutt to make targets flinch and Aqua Jet to strike first. Walrein will use Yawn to put opponents to sleep and Sheer Cold for a one-hit KO. Ludicolo will use Rain Dance to make its Swift Swim ability take effect and Giga Drain to steal HP from targets. Swampert will use Muddy Water to reduce the Accuracy stat of opponents. Starmie will use Signal Beam to confuse opponents. A move like Leaf Blade would be a decent move for this matchup.
