Seriously, should you varnish acrylic paintings? If you don't know how to apply the varnish correctly, you run the risk of ruining your painting. So the short answer is it depends. I think most people see varnishing as the finishing layer of a painting, and that it must be done. But I don't necessarily agree with this.
