The healing of the paralytic is our healing because we are paralytics. He waited for a healing that occurred once a year, but we receive our healing through baptism and our subsequent efforts to be healed. We must want to be healed. Therefore we must answer our Lord’s question of the paralytic: “Yes!” - by our actions and our priorities. And we must notice the multitude of which we are among. If we don’t notice and care for the multitude we will not be healed. A homily given at the “Seeker of the Lost Orthodox Church” in North Little Rock when I was serving so that the Carder family could get some much-deserved rest.

Do you have a minute? Luke 11:1-10 Many people know of the Lord's teaching about the Our Father, but His teaching continued directly after this with the parable about the man who knocks on his friend's door at midnight. The Our Father is a model for how to pray, and the parable teaches us how much to pray, and with what sort of spirit.

Fr. Seraphim explains how Jesus’s Parable of the Prodigal Son is applicable to people in every kind of broken spiritual condition. The restoration of the son in the parable is not about forgiveness only; it is a sign of the restoration of the human soul to a state even better than its original one. God’s plan is for us to share in his life and his goodness as full sons and heirs. Lent is a time for a perpetual coming to God, which we do through repentence. The time of Lent is not about a doing things or giving things up — it is about opening ourselves to God.

0:28 – 2:11 Why celebrate “All Saints” the Sunday after Pentecost?
2:15 – 4:28 A question to ponder: Do you confess God before men, or men before God? The latter is MUCH more common! “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven” (Mat 10:32)
4:29 – 7:41 Something to show you how to know Who God is, and how to therefore become a saint: “But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and there shall no torment touch them. 2 In the sight of the unwise they seemed to die: and their departure is taken for misery, 3 And their going from us to be utter destruction: but they are in peace. 4 For though they be punished in the sight of men, ***yet is their hope full of immortality***.” Wisdom 3:1-4
7:41 – 8:16 Outside of God, everything is death.
8:18 – 14:49 What practical thing can EVERYONE do, no matter what their spiritual state to start to become a saint? “30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.” Mat 19:30
10:14 – 11:47 The one type of prayer you must say every day – even if you are not good at prayer!
12:29 – 12:41 If you are not kind to others, it does not matter what else you do!
12:41 – 14:49 The relationship of the Greatest and second commandment, and a more intense way to look at them.
15:28 -18:05 Some of you will be unrecognizable in ten years, and will be swallowed alive by the world, and it marches to Hell (led by some of our bishops). What can you do to prevent this?
18:05 – 19:09 We will need a lot of courage in the coming days, in order to not follow the majority who are confessing men before God.
19:51 – 21:19 What is hope?
