I am very grateful for all the wonderful donations viewers send in to the Digital Basement. Sometimes, I get one that really takes me off guard. This was such a case due to the fact this computer really holds a special place in my heart.
In this video, I unbox the machine, give it a once over, do some some exterior cleaning, power supply maintenance and then see if it's working. Let's get right to it!

Do you have an old hard drive from the 80s that spins up but clunks or makes strange seek noises? If so, this fix might be for you. I have now resurrected 3 drives made in the mid to late 80s using this method.
This is a Western Digital WD362 / Tandon TM362. Here are some specs:
- Mean Time Between Failures 15,000 power on hours
- Mean Time To Repair 30 minutes
- Component Design Life 5 years
- Preventative Maintenance Not Required
5 years? My two drives are over 30 years old and still work! Amazing.

Just got my gray Nexus 6P case from Diztronic. As is typical for this brand, it feels great in hand. Looks great too and I can see zero flaws in the design. No sharp edges on your hand, which is a hallmark of Diztronic. My only issue is there is a small bulge in the sides at the bottom of the case. I tried to show this on the video but I'm sorry it was hard to see, especially due to the crappy OnePlus One's continual focus hunting. The Nexus 6P is so much easier to hold now it has this nice case on it, I really recommend this case, especially for the price. ($10)

Part 1 of ?? As a new year's resolution, I've decided it's time to declutter my office. That means I need to go through and sort the contents of about 7 or 8 Banker's boxes. The boxes are filled the brim with old computer parts and other interesting items, so I think we should be able to find some fascinating and interesting old items.

The phone goes through fits -- where pushing in the downward motion on the joystick doesn't register. You can hear the joystick physically clicking, but it often doesn't register they down in the phone's OS.
If I push hard enough in the downward motion on the joystick, it usually works, but its very annoying when texting because on this phone you must push down to select the next word for T9.
All other directions work perfectly on this joystick.
Spraying compressed air into the joystick seems to help for, but only for a short time. If you google for K790 or K800 joystick problems you can find other people having this problem with this phone. People say the problem lies in the fact dust gets trapped inside the joystick, causing this problem. The strange thing is the problem is always with the "down" direction.
I've already sent the phone in for repair once but they did nothing but upgrade the firmware, which changed nothing with regards to the joystick. I wish this had happened within the first 30 days of owning the phone so I could have just returned it, but the problem started happening around 45 days into owning the phone.
This joystick is the same as on the K800i, K800a and K790i.
