Government is on track to restore 2.5 million hectares of degraded land by the year 2030, a move aimed at increasing the country’s green cover. This was echoed by the Permanent Secretary, ministry of water and Environment during the launch of the site species matching tool for forestry. The tool helps commercial tree growers to select suitable species for particular sites in Uganda to minimize losses.
