Florence Bbosa Ssekitooleko, the Education Officer for Luweero District, strongly encourages head teachers and educators in the Greater Luweero region to embrace the enduring presence of the New Lower Secondary School Competence-Based Curriculum. This advice was imparted during the conclusion of a one-day training program for Secondary School Science and Mathematics Teachers in the Greater Luweero region. The training, held at Luweero Diocese Guest House in Luweero Town Council, aimed to equip teachers with the skills to supervise and implement the forthcoming lower secondary school competence-based curriculum, scheduled for rollout next year. President Yoweri Museveni has contributed Shs50million in cash towards the completion of Emmanuel Church of Uganda, Rwenkanja, Kashari County in Mbarara district.
The church was established in 1965 by Mama Esteri Kokundeka (RIP) alongside Esteri Kokundeka Memorial Primary School and Esteri Kokundeka Memorial Secondary School to promote education and social transformation of the community. It is believed that the late Kokundeka started the church under an eucalyptus tree and used drums to mobilize Christians for church services.
Vice President Jessica Alupo flanked with her dear husband Peter Abaine handed over the president's contribution of Shs50m to the Christians during a colorful fundraising ceremony organized to ensure the completion of the magnificent church over the weekend.
