As you can see, they really did try to do something new here, and the game definitely has an interesting mixture of classic Galaga, Rail Shooter, and side scrolling Shmup. I just wish I didn't have to restart the level because I split second missed one item. Dumb. I like this game, but it's nothing special. It's worth a cheap buy though, but isn't the best Atari-Aged Remake for the PS1. You can have some fun with it though.
This footage went over the 10 minute limit, so i had to split this scene into two vids. This is Part 2.
This is Vid Number 23 of an entire Normal Difficulty playthrough of the original Killzone on the PS2. I don't normally do playthroughs, and this isn't the most skillful playing, but I know there is a lot of interest in this game now that Killzone 2 is out, so I though I'd do a full playthrough showing all the levels and the story cut scenes, so let me give you a SPOILER WARNING for those who haven't played the game yet.
To be honest, I think this game was unfairly panned by the gaming media. I really enjoyed it, but I will admit to it's flaws. First of all, it's glitchy. It's filled with graphical glitches (which you're likely to see in these vids), and occasionally the game will even glitch out and stop progression. The biggest complaint is with the controls. The default analog control setting it terrible. Luckily, the game's controls are 100% customizable, so you can fix, or mostly fix the aiming. I've never gotten it to feel perfect to my tastes, but I've gotten it close enough to where I can adjust to the aiming. Also, the Hellghast voices are extremely annoying at first, but you get used to them, and may even start to like them after a while.
To be honest, I'd have to disagree with the belief that the developer just tried to push more than the PS2 to handle in this game. I've seen games with nearly as good, or, arguably, better graphics run a lot smoother on the system. In reality it's likely that the game was rushed in order to beat Halo 2 to the market. It feels like it released too early, and it just lacks that final layer of polish. I hear they are bringing an HD version of this game to the PS3 with Killzone 3. I think I'd rather see a remake where they fix the glitches, and the other problems with the game.

Tools of Destruction was one of the big reasons why I really wanted to pick up a PS3. I don't even remember why I wanted to play it so much at the time, I just saw a video or a review, and just wanted to play it, even though I had still yet to play the second or third games in the series.
It wasn't my main reason, but at the time I had an Xbox 360, but wanted to get a PS3 as well.
Honestly, I love this game. Insomniac had spent the years refining and tweaking R&C into an extremely addictive platformer/Shooter/RPG, and Tools of destruction was spectacular in my honest opinion. I remember it getting disappointing scores from the gaming media at the time, but their opinions and reasons to complain were dumb. I can't say their opinions were wrong, just uninformed.
I did notice that the idea of an unbiased gaming media really started to slip away during the 7th gen. Sites would stoke the flames of the fanboy flame wars, and there was a ton of negativity toward the PS3 at the time, and I'm saying this as someone who owned a 360 instead of a PS3.
Looking back, this whole period was silly, but interesting. Hopefully, people can look back on both consoles a lot more favorably than they did while those systems were still alive. It was pretty much the last great console generation, and the new ones are, meh. Not nearly as interesting or exciting. Not to sound like the PC master race, but when consoles are just download boxes for games, Series X, PS5, PC, what's the difference. I think I'll get a Switch someday instead.

This is just some gameplay for Golf Magazine Presents: 36 Great Holes Starring Fred Couples on the Sega 32X.
In the days of Tiger Woods it seems that everyone has forgot about Fred Couples who was one of the greatest gol............Who am I kidding, I have no clue who this guy is. I don't watch golf, and quite frankly, the prospect alone of doing such puts me to sleep.
This game has it's addicting qualities I guess, but in truth, the only golf game that has ever held my attention for more than a few minutes of play is the original Hot Shots Golf on the PS1. This game's not bad for it's time I guess, but I'm not about to give up Hot Shots for it.
I find this game to be decent. Not the I just paid $50-$60 (Whatever it's original retail price was at the time) decent, but the I paid less than $20 for my 32X which came with 6 games, and this was one of them decent.
Note, there's this strange and annoying buzzing sound in this vid. I don't notice it when I'm playing the game on my TV, but it does show up in the vid for some reason.

There is a difference between hardcore fan, and blind fanboy. Again, I don't hate this system, but I was disappointed with it most of the time (remember, this system followed up the Snes). It's a much better system to own now, but back in the day, I was more likely to buy or rent a PS1 game (Specifically RPGs) over an N64 game. I probably could have just grabbed two more Midway Games, and called this "Five Good Midway games on the N64," Even though Robotron was, technically, made by Crave, it's still a Midway franchise. No big surprises here, I have reviewed two of these games in full length reviews already. I think I have enough games to do at least two more of these in the future.Note: The Zelda footage was taken from the Gamecube version of the game. I don't own the N64 version. Don't even get me started on OOT, cuz you won't like it.

I edited out my deaths, and most of my quick saves to make it easier to watch.
I'm betting that most people who have played the PS2 port of Half-Life never even knew that the Uplink demo also got a PS2 port.
In order to access the Uplink Demo, you need a copy of Half-Life PS2, and a copy of the Official Playstation Magazine Demo Disk Number 57. The demo disk in question has a WWII American GI on the cover of it, because it has a demo of Medal of Honor: Frontline. If you don't currently own the demo, then you'll have to look on Amazon, Ebay, Or Half for it. That's probably going to be your best bet to find it. None of the Game Stores I know of carry used demo disks from OPM (I've seen a few Jampacks).
I completely forgot about the ability to play the uplink demo on the PS2 until I uploaded a feature on the PS2 port of Half-Life.
If you'd like to know how to do it properly, here's an FAQ about it from Gamefaqs:

Just don't click on the spammy ads. The Blue download tab with the file size (87.02mb) in the black box is the one you should click.
I may have even written this before 2010, but in the early 2000's, it was cool to like the PS2, but when it came to the general attitude on the forums I frequented towards the PS1, it's that most of the game were crap, except the same five or six games. People would be like, every game sucked except, RE2, MGS, Gran Turismo, etc. They'd even be dissing Final Fantasy VII of all games.
