Aristotle's idea of entelechy is an overlooked idea of his that is fascinating. It really brings abstract ideas to life as they should be. He believed everyone's purpose in life was to reach their own state of entelechy, which is the state in which all of your potential was realized and then actualized. For example, an acorn has the potential to become a tree. This is wired biologically within the acorn that with a certain amount of time and nurturing, it will become a tree. The worst thing that could happen is that the acorn remains an acorn and never actualizes its potential. The same premise is true with humans. It is important to realize the maximum biological capability in yourself. This is realizing that your potential exists in abstraction. The next step is actualizing your potential, which is bringing it to life. This is a remake of a video I have done previously because I don't think I did the topic justice in the previous video. In this video I offer five techniques you can use to access your unconscious. These can all be done in the comfort of your own home or wherever you wish.
The unconscious is a vast part of the mind, especially when comparing it to the conscious mind. Understanding thoughts and emotions in the unconscious can be helpful in understanding your behavior.
The five techniques I give are:
1. Projections
2. Dream Analyzation
3. Active Imagination
4. The digging method
5. Watch through til the end for this one as it requires explanation.
All of these techniques require a fair amount of practice and time to get used to but as long as you give it your best effort, you shouldn't have much of an issue accessing the unconscious. I did not come up with these techniques except for the last one. The rest were developed by the renowned psychologist, Carl Jung.
I said I got the digging method from a podcast so here is the link:

In this video, I briefly discuss what dopamine is and how it works, its relation to the stoic philosophy, and how to use that philosophy to have healthy levels of dopamine throughput the day. The explanation behind the mechanisms is based on Andrew Huberman's understanding of it, which he explains in the Huberman Lab Podcast if you want more information on it.
Dopamine should be thought of as a currency. It's a limited supply that should be used on things we truly care about. We should avoid activities that unnecessarily use too much dopamine or use it too often.

This life is for us to find God. Money, status, physique, family… all of it will fade away. The only thing that will remain is your relationship with God. #christianity #god #jesus #bible #christian

What does God say about decision making? This video is on indecision, and the danger of being indecisive. Indecision can leave us paralyzed, unable to make simple choices sometimes. Our fear of failure or a negative outcome often causes this paralysis.
Indecision on your beliefs is a common issue. Some people either don't think about existentialism, or they are overwhelmed with so many paths that they cannot decide. Especially for Christians, it is important to understand that we cannot be indecisive on the life we wish to live. You must decide that a life of sin is something you wish to turn away from, not continue in. Once a decision is made, then God can work. We should be asking god for help in making decisions.
This does not mean you will never struggle with sin. But the mindset that you and God are in agreement must be the first step. If you enjoyed the video please leave a like and comment. If you're new here, please subscribe.

The will to meaning, a way of deriving purpose from all experience, good and bad. Based on the book "Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl. Most of you know me as TheStrikingStoic. Philosophy has always served me well. It was intellectually stimulating and gave me things to think about. It gave me structure and ideals that I could follow. However, there was always a void that it couldn't fill. I am fairly sure we all have a void within us that we fill with different things. For me, the question of existence always made that void fairly large. It may be a shock to some of you, but I have decided to follow Jesus and proclaim that I am now a Christian. I have never liked how Christianity was taught to people; preachers yelling and people being loud the entire time. I want to approach it from a different angle; one that isn't as obnoxious and teaches lessons calmly and practically. Thank you all for being tuned in thus far, I think this is an exciting new beginning and I hope most of you stick around to at least see what it's about.

In this video, I discuss Attack on Titan's effect on its viewers. In particular, Eren Yeager's archetypal attributes that he conveys to the viewers. I go over the Will to Power, individualism, and the warrior archetype.
Attack on Titan is a complex narrative about humanity defending itself from titans, humanoid creatures that have a taste for humans. Most of Paradis wishes to stay in the walls forever, stuck in a mode of complacency and apathy. Eren joins the Survey Corp to work toward his freedom. As he discovers more about himself and his powers, Eren goes to more extreme lengths to attain freedom. The hero becomes the warrior, as he is faced with a grim conclusion; the only way in which he can gain freedom. Attack on Titan is about the sovereignty of the individual vs the collective.
