I finally had a chance to sit down and edit some video from the summer. This is the first of 2, maybe 3, videos from footage shot downtown in June.

None of the events I videoed were preplanned. I just shot whatever I had time to during my rides which were not as frequent for two reasons. The first being that my ankle was still healing from a bad roll in March. I could ride, but I couldn't snap my foot to ollie, and I had to modify my stance and the way I pushed because it was my push foot that was injured.

The second thing keeping me off my board as much as years prior is that I have been having one of my most successful years in business since starting up 19 years ago. Despite my success and injury, I still managed to get out and about and catch some of the usual suspects hanging around along with some new ones.

I wasn't even sure what I had shot when I sat down to go through my footage. What I found is that things haven't changed all that much. While the homeless situation seems to have improved some since peek pandemic, it's still pretty bad out there. There's still no shortage of people running around fighting with ghosts due to drugs and mental illness.

Sadly, June is the last time I've seen Kyle Shorter who showed up under the Arts Garden midday. His sister reached out to me last month on Instagram looking for him. He's disappeared before for months at a time so maybe he's okay, but he seemed a bit out of sorts. He had lost his left eye during a fight with a "friend." I have a bad feeling that something terrible has happened to him, but I've been known to be wrong at times.

I wonder what other memories and people I'm going to find in on my hard drive. Now that the cold air is officially here, I'm going to have a lot more time to find out, and hopefully it won't be another 4 months until I get another video up online.
