Talks
Abstract ?
Recently, the breakthrough of artificial intelligence is achieved by the Deep Learning algorithms. By simulating the mechanism of the visual system in human, the Deep Learning algorithms can achieve the human-level precision in image recognition tasks. Also, it is possible to mimic the process of "Creating an Artwork" by deep neural networks. Given a photo A and a artwork B, this deep neural can create a new artwork with the exactly same content with photo A and same style with artworks B.

Speaker: Van Lindberg
Van Lindberg has worked professionally as an engineer, as a lawyer, and as an executive. He currently has a dual legal/technical role at Rackspace, and has worked out of both the legal department and the Office of the CTO. In April 2012, the American Bar Association Journal named Van as one of "America's Top 12 Techiest Attorneys." He has been involved with open source since 1994, when a friend introduced him to Linux.
On the legal side, Van leads Rackspace's Intellectual Property program, directing Rackspace's strategy and policy around patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, and open source matters. Van also heads Rackspace's lobbying efforts relative to patent reform.
On the technical side, Van runs Rackspace's technical leadership corps, known internally as the "TCT." Van also works in technical strategy and ecosystem engagement at Rackspace, identifying emerging technologies, separating out differentiating versus non-differentiating product elements, and using open source strategies to be more competitive.
Previously, Van worked at the law firm of Haynes and Boone, where he wrote "Intellectual Property and Open Source," published by O'Reilly and Associates, and grew an open source practice helping businesses with everything from open source compliance to business strategy.
In addition to Van's open source practice, he did IP transactional work, patent prosecution, litigation, and post-grant actions (ex parte and inter partes reexams/reviews).
Van currently serves as chairman of the board of the Python Software Foundation, on the board of the OpenStack Foundation, and as the chair of the Docker Governance Advisory Board.

LCD is a mature display technology and widely adopted in consumer electronics. Being able to simulate LCD device is important to understand how it works as well as improve LCD technology. OpenLCDFDM is a program which uses finite difference method to perform LCD simulations. This talk will give introductions of how an LCD display works and the methods used in OpenLCDFDM to simulate such devices.
About the speaker
Graduated from physics department, former engineer of INNOLUX corporation, specializing in physics simulation. I have researched into particle-in-cell simulation for plasmas and liquid crystal optics simulation.

Abstract ?
In recent years, cross-platform declarative UI frameworks such as Flutter, Compose Multiplatform have emerged. It seems that it is gradually being accepted by the market. These frameworks are written in the programming language it will be used and are easy to use and hack. The question arises here. Why doesn't Python have such a framework written in Python? In this talk, I would like to guess and explain the reason in my own way and introduce such a thing I made with the spirit of "if you don't have one, just make one".
? 說明 Description ?
In recent years, in other programming language community/world, cross-platform declarative UI frameworks such as Flutter for Dart, Compose Multiplatform have emerged. It seems that it is gradually being accepted by the market. These frameworks are written in the programming language those will be used and are easy to use and hack. The question arises here. Why doesn't Python have such a framework written in Python? In this talk, I would like to guess and explain the reason in my own way and introduce such a thing I made with the spirit of "if you don't have one, just make one".
In this talk, I will talk contents as following:
1. What is declarative UI?
2. Trend of cross-platform declarative UI frameworks in other languages
3. Currently available frameworks with declarative UI support for Python
4. Why there is no declarative UI framework for Python written in Python
5. Introduce a tiny Pure Python Declarative UI Framework https://github.com/i2y/castella
After listening to this talk, as a result, you will know what declarative UI looks like and a UI framework in which you can try it out. This talk may be able to provide you the opportunities as following:
- To know some wrappers for UI frameworks written in other languages available in Python.
- To get a little bit piece of the history of UI frameworks (GUI toolkits).
- To know a case used python's Protocol (type hint) well.
About Speaker - Yasushi Itoh ?
Hi, I'm a software engineer at Mercari inc. in Japan. I have been a software engineer for almost 19 years. I'm a Pythonista and Gopher and Rubyist and also love many other programming languages. I first encountered Python over 20 years ago and have used it occasionally for work and pleasure. About my past python experience, for example, I created https://github.com/i2y/mochi for my hobby, I created document translation (combination of Natural Language Processing, Image Processing and ML) at work.

Speaker: Mosky Liu
About the speaker
I am a Python developer at Pinkoi [1], an author of Python packages, a Python instructor, and an Open Source lover. Since I met Python in 2009, it is too hard to forget the simplicity and elegance of Python, so I've been writing Python for 5 years. I am interested in using Python in web, system administration, and data-related topics. I developed some Python packages, such as MoSQL [2], Clime [3], ZIPCodeTW [4]. You can find them on GitHub [5] or PyPI [6]. In the same time, I’ve taught Python for 100+ hours, mostly at OSSF’s [7] events. It is my personal website: http://mosky.tw/ . Day 2, R0 14:05–14:35
Deep Learning
