Artist Life: Feelings of Rejection and Ways to Cope
There’s not one artist that hasn’t experienced some form of rejection. We all do at some point. Never let that stop you from creating what you’re really passionate about. Instead, let it be just another force that propels you forward.
In this video, I go over some examples of when we might feel rejected as artists. Then I explain what rejection means on an emotional level and how it might affect our work. Lastly I provide several tips about how to manage these feelings and in a way that can re-energize you.
Have you felt rejection? How do you deal? Leave a comment below.
Hi I’m Amber! I’m an artist. I have a lot of thoughts so I created a channel.
In this video I discuss a bit of my own battle with anxiety—namely related to art performance.
Ever had that? It’s a bummer. Especially when it gets in the way of creating. Most people have experienced some kind of anxiety in their lives, but I feel that for artists, it can be especially debilitating if it stops you from being productive.
The 3 tips I’ve personally found helpful (that I discuss in this video):
1. Stop thinking about the end results
2. Don’t focus on the details
3. Take care of your [work] environment
Thanks for watching!
I’ll be making more videos on art and mental health. Also stick around if you’re interested in handmade art how-to’s and discussions/topics related to AI.
