In the summer of 2019, multiple news sources reported that the creator of Sex And The City, Candace Bushnell, told The Sunday Times that she regrets choosing a career over kids because now she knows what it feels like to be "truly alone" after divorcing from her husband. Around the same time, my husband and I had started considering whether we wanted to go forward with starting a family, as we married at 35 and found ourselves at 37 facing the real possibility that we'd lose the chance to have kids if we wanted too much longer. We were both very content with our marriage, our careers and our lives in general. We didn't feel like we were "missing something" and could have easily continued on with the status quo.
