4.9 Kernel http://lkml.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/ke... There are over 16k + Commits with another 1100 merge commits of technical changes with this release. Without getting too technical its suffice to say….its better. Linus has stated that this is the biggest release ever!
The Brisk menu will be ported over to become a Mate applet which may end up being the default menu in new releases of Ubuntu Mate https://solus-project.com/2016/12/11/...
Gecko Linux The Yast2 installer was replaced by the Calamares installer Cinnamon version 3.0.7 Xfce version 4.12 Gnome version 3.20 Plasma version 5.8.2 LTS Mate version 1.16 Budgie will be on hiatus until next release LXQt version 0.11 They also have a barebones version that comes with LightDM, Openbox, Firefox, a terminal, YaST, and not much else
