Edit Faster TODAY with this Simple Trick for ANY Software or Keyboard
#203 - Just a quick one today that might help you speed up you workflow just a little bit. There always seems to be a ton of interest in custom controllers, keyboards & purpose built control devices. I'm a huge fan of them too, but ultimately it all comes back to the keyboard. I've talked about it in video #180 - https://youtu.be/HT2xTe7LIb8 about how controllers must provide some unique benefit to outweigh the time it takes to move your hand away from the keyboard where it is already resting. In practice, I end up using shortcuts and macros far more often than additional controllers.
With that in mind, I am currently working on an update to video #156 - https://youtu.be/cuLtrSRD4Og - and my personal custom external USB controller that you can see in this video. It's the little blue box to the left & it will be getting a few more custom macro buttons here in a future episode really soon.
The 2019 NAMM show is in the books and we've got a quick video here to recap all the action and give you a look at what to expect on the channel in the coming weeks. The sheer volume of video we shot in just four days is taking us a while to get through, sorting and organizing it along with our notes. There is a ton of great content though that we can't wait to get edited so we can share it with you.
Thanks to ProSoundWeb for making the trip possible, along with those of you who support the channel directly through Patreon, PayPal & by using the affiliate links here and on the website. Your support makes traveling to events like this, and more importantly editing the footage afterwards possible & I can't thank you enough for the help.

We are comparing the mic preamp noise created by the Behringer X32 versus the Behringer Wing, as well as the S32 stage box in this video. Lot's of opportunity to hear them side by side and headphones might be a good choice to hear the detail.
What do you think about this noise knowing that it is 70 - 80dB down at a usable gain? Would it affect your purchasing decision if you were shopping for a console? Thanks for watching & for supporting the channel.

We're back with Part 2 of our talk with John Huntington.
Like it or not, networking is here to stay in professional audio & production. While it might have you tearing your hair out at the moment, it really is making a massive difference in how we deal with transporting & managing data on a job site. While we grew up hunting down signal flow problems with a mini-mag light as our preferred analysis tool, these days it’s tools like Dante Controller, Wireshark, Wireless Workbench & a solid ethernet dongle for your laptop that get you out of most jams.
Enter John Huntington, educator, author, practitioner, storm chaser, photographer & all around nice gut to spend a Sunday chatting with.
As networked audio has come into its own in the past few years, the knowledge base he has amassed in building reliable show networks and control systems is an excellent foundation to build from and a must have reference on everyone’s shelf in my opinion.

Jake from Metro Tech takes us on a first hand look at setting up the Neutrik DPRO Dante interface with a Yamaha QL1 console for the first time. Controlling these 2x2 Mic, Line & AES interfaces directly from your console is a huge benefit, and Jake shows us some common pitfalls to avoid along the way.
The 2020 year end giveaway winners have been picked at random from all of the entries & are announced in this video as well. We've reached out via e-mail too to the winners & will be sending out their packages this week. Thanks to everyone who participated, and again to Neutrik & John Huntington for contributing the DLINE interface and the copies of his book.
