This is Persona 5 for the PlayStation 4 running on a PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility. On base PS4, Persona 5's resolution is 1080p and the framerate is locked at 30fps. A PS4 Pro update was never made for P5, so 1080p30 is what you will get while playing this game on PS5. If you're wanting a 4K experience, then there's always Persona 5 Royal. That game runs at 4K30 on PS4 Pro.
So why play Persona 5 (instead of Persona 5 Royal) on PlayStation 5 if it already ran perfectly on PS4? The biggest reason is I want to get the Platinum Trophy for this game. Another reason is I'm curious to see how well this game performs on PS5. Backwards compatibility isn't always perfect, so while I'm playing to get all the trophies, I figure it'd be good to test performance to make sure there aren't any crashes too.
Persona 5 originally released on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in Japan on September 15, 2016. It would later launch worldwide on PS3 and PS4 on April 4, 2017.

This is Part 5 of my Final Fantasy VII Remake playthrough. This is the PlayStation 4 version of FFVII Remake being played on PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility. I mentioned in a previous video that I was itching to play Final Fantasy VII Remake again, so here I am doing just that. For this playthrough, the difficulty is set to Hard. In this difficulty mode, enemies are stronger, items cannot be used (even though you can still collect them...), and MP is not restored resting at benches (HP still is though thankfully). I had thought about playing this game on Normal mode, but considering my characters are all level 50 and a lot of my Materia is maxed out, I figured that wouldn't be the right thing to do. This is a no commentary playthrough.
As aforementioned, this is still the PS4 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Because the framerate was capped at 30fps on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, the framerate remains capped at 30fps on PlayStation 5. Square Enix will have to release an update to take advantage of the extra power before we get 60fps for Final Fantasy VII Remake. Even though there are rumors that Square Enix may be announcing some FFVII Remake news, I couldn't help replay this game. If they end up announcing a PS5 version for Final Fantasy VII Remake, I'll definitely upload gameplay videos on my channel.
On the bright side, the resolution is set to 1620p, so whether you play on a 1080p screen or a 4K screen, the game is going to look fantastic. The PS4 Pro used dynamic resolution to maintain the 30fps framerate, but the PS5 is able to maintain the resolution at 1620p without any framerate drops.
This recording is in 4K and 30fps. Gameplay captured from a PS5 using an Elgato 4K60 Pro.
