The capacity of a Maxtek BP-819 battery is measured as well as a standard Canon BP-809 for reference. Array 3710 electronic load is used (a re-branded unit).
This R16 had a bad SD Card connector. It turned out to have a bent pin, that broke off in an attempt to straighten it out. The part number of the SD Card connector was identified, but no luck finding a replacement part. An attempt was made to solder the tiny pin, which was successful.

Troubleshooting of a faulty Agilent 66321B Mobile Communications DC Source from eBay. It seems like the calibration memory was corrupted somehow. After going through the calibration procedure the unit appears to work just fine.

DR600 Li-ion battery pack was taken apart and a battery management system (BMS) was added to it. This was not very easy, but not too bad either having equipment, materials and experience with this sort of thing. If you are going to do something like this, please be very careful. Don't try this if you don't know what you are doing.

According to the previous owner, this mixer was diagnosed in a local repair shop as having a power supply failure. I was told that the repair estimate was $500, so the mixer ended up being sold for $50 for parts or repair. I could not resist the temptation. The failure was traced to one 100V 3A schottky diode, which is $0.52 on Digikey. Wonderful mixer for a wonderful price!

In the previous repair video I have found a few problems with this supply. One of them was seemingly fixed by cleaning the power board, but it was not so. The problem came back, and turned out to be a cracked ceramic capacitor.

This tiny adjustable buck converter is $0.99 on eBay with free shipping from Hong Kong. I have no idea how they manage to make money. Anyway, it seems to work reasonably well. However I don't think it really can handle claimed 1.8A continuously since it was running at about 89 degrees C during my test (with 26 degrees C ambient). It is also quite noisy, but this was expected.
It is based on Monolithic Power Systems MP2307DN chip.

This Coleman Rechargeable QuickPump model 5999C400 had a dead 6V lead-acid battery. Simple replacing of the old-school battery seemed too boring, so an upgrade to Li-ion was attempted. There were some complications, and some compromises had to be made. I hope you will enjoy discussion of the design decisions and technical challenges involved.

This is a power supply, battery charger and footswitch for Roland V-Accordion FR-7 (and FR-7x). It did not power up, and had some sings of a previous repair attempt. The problem was traced to a dual rectifier diode on the secondary side of the power supply. After replacing the faulty component with a suitable equivalent the power supply seems to work properly.

Cleaning of the volume pot and recapping. The project was delayed for a few months due to shipping delays from China, but in the end I decided not to use the big 22000 uF 63V capacitors I bought from there. They measured about 12000uF, so I suspect that they are fake.
