Paul Bunyan USPSA July 2021: Open Division Grandmaster
We got an early look at the monorail stage that is being setup for the upcoming Area 1 Championships coming in August. From what we saw today, I think everyone would love it. What's not to like? Shooting from a roller coaster will be awesome!
Week #37. We have four new target props to be used this week. They're called Drop Leg targets which are very popular in the Western US first designed for IDPA stages. You have a steel plate holding up a IPSC or USPSA target, you shoot at the steel plate, it drops the target down horizontally. This target is typically used behind a low cover like under a car or behind a wall. Very fun!
Changelog v0.49
* IPSC & USPSA Drop Leg targets
* Add & play custom stages to match list
* Custom stage play counter
* Automatically generate course descriptions for custom stages
* Improved some terrain features
* Fixed Left Handed issue
Enjoy!

This was my final series match for 2022 and it was supposed to be a fun showdown between Jordan and myself. Unfortunately on the first stage, he experienced a case head separation and could not continue the fight, netting me the win for the 2022 Northwest Series Championships. It was dissapointing to see that happened to him as it would have been a glorious battle.
Looking forward to next year's series Jordan!

Week #41. I'll start off with something bad this week. The classifier stage, CM03-05 Paper Poppers was not honoring the mandatory reload rule, meaning you could get away without reloading, which explains how fast some of the top scores were. Fixed the problem but I would have to "throw out the stage" and reset all the scores for Paper Poppers to be fair. Sorry for doing this but here's your opportunity to try for top stop all over again :)
We've also implemented scoreboards in the stage browsing menu so you can see if anyone beat your score before choosing to play it. Also lots of fixes with match mode. Here's a more comprehensive list.
Changelog v0.53
* Paper Poppers Not honoring mandatory reload
* Paper Poppers score reset (throwing out stage)
* Show scoreboard in main menu when browsing stages
* Remove stage from match list
* Course designer name incorrect
* Steel Challenge DQ end stage works correctly
* Fixed retry option during match mode
* Fixed stuck in match mode when returning from match
Enjoy!

Had a great time shooting with our squad. I can admit that shooting with Nick (GM) definitely affects me mentally. Some stages I push myself too far trying to catch up to him but fail and bomb the stage, but when I take his performance as an inspiration and shoot to my abilities, I do well.
Shooting in the Open division is definitely a mental game.

I went into this match to have fun. After many depressing major match performances, I told myself to f*ck all of that and just have fun. and I did. It worked, I was more relaxed and I shot way better. This was my first clean major match, well except for a foot fault.
What did I learn from this match? I shoot better relaxed.

Edged out another match win today. Shot a clean match but felt super slow. Must be all that extra calories I'm lugging around. :) Made a few silly mistakes here and there. Need more focus. Also switched to using my iPhone for 3rd person videos and used the Slow-mo mode for some of the shots. Hope you like it.
