This amazing weekend in the sand dunes started with a quick tour in the Polaris RAZR 1000 before getting out the big toys in the morning. Tanks of race fuel were on hand for the Dragon Slayer, a custom 4 seat sand car. It's running a Whipple supercharged LS3 on 116 octane VP BLUE. Painstakingly finished custom paint, and a full complement of matching LED lighitng rounds out this full interior car with over 800HP. We filled it up, grabbed some headsets then headed onto the sand for a wild day. Coming down from the first wheelie sent my iPhone out the window and the weekend ended with a massive RAZR jump totaling it out. I was on hunt for a new car to flip and this Volkswagen Passat Wagon popped up on FB while I was at SEMA. No questions were asked, I just said I'd take it, when I picked it up a few days later I learned it was far more dangerous than I expected. Took the Fury out to enjoy a nice day, ended up hiding while the police went after the sport bike. Yes we're in the city, and yes they have no chase, but you can tell the officer is flying down the road after the sport bike as he was a little slower getting out of there than I was. For me, buying a Chevy Volt was an obvious choice because it's impossible to beat the ownership costs and I drive a lot of long distance where it really shines (also the Tesla just can't go places the Volt can).
