In this interview Dr. Vineeta Sinha (National University of Singapore) discusses the challenge of doing ethnography in one's own community and how this explodes the spatial and temporal boundaries of the "field". She also emphasizes how engaging in research on diasporic and migrant communities complicates geographically fixed approaches to ethnography. Finally, Dr. Sinha discusses her passion for teaching, how it nourishes her research, and how she strives to encourage students to explore scholarship beyond the traditional Eurocentric and gendered boundaries of sociology.
