President Trump’s Statements On The Charlottesville Tragedy Dehoaxed
It was August, 2017. The removal of US General Robert E. Lee's statue in Charlottesville, VA was considered imminent due to a recent vote by the City Council. General Lee commanded the Army of Northern Virginia in the American Civil War from 1862 until surrender in 1865. Activists, historians, and many other Americans protested the removal on both sides: Pro-Statue and Anti-Statue.
Among those gathered at the Robert E. Lee Statue were members of extremist groups ANTIFA and the Ku Klux Klan.
President Trump has been under criticism by America’s corporate media outlets for nearly 2 years regarding his August 12th statement that “many sides” of the Robert E. Lee Statue Debate were to blame for violence that resulted in the deaths of 3 Americans earlier that day.
In 2019, the press continues to negatively reference Trump’s statement on August 15th, 2017 in regard to there being “fine people” on both sides of the Statue Debate. The President had released a statement from the White House on August 14th that explicitly condemned all hate groups, including the KKK, White Supremacists, and Neo-Nazis.
This video collects all 3 live statements in full context.
