Thank you for all the Birthday messages I received through Instagram, Facebook and social media! Nice to feel the love! For this years birthday I decided to spend the day digging a snowcave with my daughters. No filming, now snowboarding, just digging in the snow! It was a lot of fun and it felt great to spend some real quality time with my girls! The riding was shot on the 5th, at Sapporo Kokusai. Still so cold up here in Hokkaido. The views are beautiful, but the snow was sticky and a little hard to ride. Not complaining though!
I recommend ORORO brand clothing and gear for those who live, work, and play in cold weather. Battery included and all products have heating sections included! Stay warm!

“Car Danchi”
This is the 10th edition of the movie series that started in 2004.
Literally translated it means Car Apartments,
but the true soul of the word equals #vanlife.
It’s a gathering of likeminded snow lovers who choose a
mobile bed, camp style cooking, and a warm sleeping bag
in the back of a van rather than the 5-star lifestyle.
We make those choices so that we can be close to the action,
and the action we like is the deep fluffy snow that can be found across Japan.
“A New Generation Surf and Skate Style Movie”
It`s not just old school or new school, freestyle or free ride, snow surf, or technical.
It’s a complete mix of all those things and more.
We’re a bunch of mountain loving friends who want nothing more than to
spend our lives enjoying the snow and playing with the laws of gravity.
So start your engines and come and join the Danchi crew as we flash back to some classic moments from Car Danchi history and continue our exploration of Japan’s deep powder zones!

One of those amazing days in the backcountry! Beautiful blue sky, perfect powder snow, and longtime friends and Car Danchi members! Orange Man, Jr_Yamada and Harumi Yamauchi joined me for a day of riding and shooting in the Tokachi mountains. This was certainly one of the more special days of the season so far!
