Visiting the local fleamarket reveals some amazing gems from the past. An old radio that COULD be from the 20s, a Polaroid SLR680 instant camera that folds up and fits in the jacket from the 80s, and a box camera aka the Brownie from grandma and grandpa's time. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skZ5hdR38Xo
Here's my second version of the radio I made earlier - and it's now Re-generative.
I've added an BF240 for the regen, and a lot of caps to keep it in balance without too much interference, quite tricky job, but it ended up working as you can hear, it receives a lot of stations (maybe right when I took the video, as you can only hear a few) but I've picked up at least 10 stations + 2 rtty transmissions within an hour on a indoor string antenna. You can hear that it is very selective and locks onto the stations nicely.
I think I'll make some sound fidelity improvements, call it a day, and put it in a box with several coils & switches to make it receive even more, maybe throw in a frequency counter at a later point.

Have you ever been to a flea marked that is all about electronics?
Well, imagine thousands of nerds / radio amateurs / maker people - getting together under one roof just to show off their stuff, swap stuff, sell stuff and above all BUY new STUFF!
I bought a few instruments and components too, I always do every-time I visit that place in Denmark.
I decided to record a few clips from this international meeting in Scandinavia so you guys get to see what a Nerd-Fest look like.

I found this old Electown Radio at the flea marked, what a nice find! Do you remember the back to the future movie with Marty McFly? The radio he used to wake up next to? Well, this is as close as I could get, good enough...as I haven't ever seen one of these around...and I do visit a LOT of flea markets.
I've restored it, it was a bit busted, the display was loose, the screws not in place, things rattling about and the display back-light didn't work either. Well, I improved it by adding a LED light to it instead. The camera can't do it any justice unfortunately. But hey, here ya go anyway.
PS: This is a 3D-recording in 720p. Try the 3D youtube settings, you can change into almost any supported 3D format, it should work with your cheap cartoon 2-color 3D glasses you can find anywhere too. Or you could always try to cross your eyes...but beware...not taking any responsibility for loss of eyesight, permanent damages to your vision etc. so do it on your own risk, or not at all :)

I found a really cool 80's toy in a Retro-Shop in Copenhagen (Denmark) - it's a genuine Fluorescent video game, these are very rare - obviously since LCD was much cheaper than this Fluorescent "LED" display, it works 100% and came with the original packaging and user manual.
Expect it to GOBBLE up batteries though, so an adapter would be a great idea, if not mandatory.

Here's a neat party trick, make your own LASER SHOW for only 5 bucks! All you need is: 1) Rubber string, 2) A cheap pen laser, 3) A mirror or two, 4) A relay or two, 5) A rare-earth magnet. All you do is dismantling the relay into an electro-magnet, glue your rare-earth magnet to the tiny mirror, glue the mirror with the magnet to a rubber-string, stretch it onto something so the mirror can vibrate freely, and tighten as needed. Place your newly modified (relay) electro-magnet right behind the rare earth magnet, make sure it doesn't touch - but have some distance between it, maybe 2 mm or so.
Now, aim the laser at the mirror (make sure YOU don't get blinded by it!), and have it reflect onto a white surface (or fluorescent for that cool effect if you have a blue one). And connect your electromagnet to an audio source of some sort. Use a 24v relay if you're connecting it to a stereo. 3-5 volt relay if you're connecting it to an audio headset output, make sure you turn the VOLUME ALL THE WAY DOWN - so you don't blow the output of your amplifier/stereo.
Have fun!

Testing Acans call, it´s the first stage (demo) of the up and coming adventure game currently in the alpha-beta stages, it´s a full room scale game, quite exciting (and exhausting). NSFW: A little swearing occurs - so be warned ;).
