As a progressive, I’ve noticed we do not have as many African Americans involved in the progressive movement. Often when I’ve attended progressive movement events, there are either few African Americans present or I’m the only one. When I think about the PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT | BLACK COMMUNITY we are often missing from the conversation about progressive policies that could really help the black community. Many African American progressives do not have a large enough platform to engage the African American community about these policies. I honestly believe if we had that platform, more African Americans would’ve voted for Bernie Sanders in the Democratic Primary Election, instead of Joe Biden.
