easter-(復活節)-christianity-2
Easter (復活節), also known as the is one of the important festivals of Christianity. In the fourth century AD, the first Council of Nicaea decided not to follow the Jewish calendar, so it was changed to the first Sunday after the vernal equinox (about April twenty-sixth of this year),
because after the vernal equinox, the northern hemisphere began to lengthen and the nights shorter. When the moon is full, not only is the day full of light, but even the dark night is illuminated with brilliance (the moonlight).
The Easter activity is the "egg hunt". Western Europeans believe that an egg has two lives. The first time the hen lays an egg, it represents "new life", and the second time the egg is broken represents "rebirth", which symbolizes resurrection. The Easter egg hunt is a special event.
The decorated eggs are hidden (traditionally, dyed eggs are used, and various funny faces or patterns can also be painted on the eggs) for people to find, and some people use egg-shaped chocolates instead. Easter eggs are a symbolic item and a way of expressing friendship, love and wishes.
In addition to eggs, another delegate of Easter is the lily. It symbolizes rebirth, purity, and hope, which is similar to the rebirth of Jesus Christ.
there is also mutton, because according to the "Bible" records, Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross, the scapegoat for all and a symbol of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Therefore, people also eat mutton at Easter, or use ham instead.
Many folk customs associated with Easter today do not have Christian origins. Christian laity commemorates the resurrection of Jesus, non-Christians celebrate their cultural and secular customs. For example, early Christian churches in Mesopotamia dyed eggs red to honor the blood of Jesus Christ.
In the United States, an Easter Egg Hunt has been held at the White House every Easter Monday since eighteen seventy-eight. There is a lottery every year, which is quite popular. Spain spent a week of celebrations starting with Palm Sunday and ending with Easter Sunday. According to legend,
Jesus Christ rode a donkey into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, people welcomed him with palm branches. Therefore, the Spaniards celebrate this day with palm branches, bring it to the church to pray, and bring back the blessed palm branch. Placing it at home symbolizes blessing and peace.
In the Netherlands, it is a tradition for the whole family to have a long breakfast together at Easter. Platters of cheese, bacon, omelets, eggs, eggs, eggs. You can also buy butter cubes in the shape of lambs at Easter. An integral part of Easter brunch is "Easter bread",
which is not much different from Christmas bread, except that the former is wrapped with a yellow ribbon and the latter is wrapped with a red ribbon. Jewish bread "Matsos" is also a must-have ingredient for Dutch Easter.
It is customary to eat Mämmi during Easter in Finland. This custom comes from the early Catholic Church. The Easter fast is over and good food is allowed, but Good Friday is a holy day, fires and cooking were not allowed,
so, it is a tradition to eat cold, easy-to-preserve foods at that time, such as Finnish Mämmi An Easter dessert made from a mixture of water, rye flour, malt powder and salt, and usually served with whipped cream and syrup.
Holy Week in the Philippines is marked by processions, reenactments of Good Friday and the traditional Visita Iglesia. Easter in Germany is called Ostern and is celebrated with Easter eggs, Easter bunnies and Easter markets. One tradition is the Osterbaum, or Easter tree,
decorated with eggs and other decorations. Easter in Greece is celebrated with a traditional lamb feast, and on Holy Saturday, candles are lit, and hymns are sung outside churches. On the island of Chios in eastern Greece,
there are soaring firecrackers every year, a bit like Yaushiu Beehive Fireworks Festival in Taiwan.
In France, Easter is called Pâques, and the French will celebrate it by "eating Easter eggs". For example, Bessières in southwestern France will celebrate Easter with a giant omelet made from more than 10,000 eggs. On Easter Sunday, church bells are rung to announce the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Easter celebrates not only the resurrection of Christ, but also the resurrection of all mankind. Human beings should continue the spirit of Christ Jesus, love the world, pray for the world every day, repent, do good deeds and redeem sins, and perform more good deeds to make up for human mistakes.
