How Can God Allow Innocent Beings to Suffer so Much?
7,676 views Jan 19, 2024 In a Q&A someone asked: "I live in Mexico and there are so very many starving street dogs and cats. I've been a Christian all my life (I'm 60), but I've never been able to understand why innocent animals have to suffer so much. If God sees them, and I know He does, how can he allow such innocent beings to suffer so much? I know about free will and all that, but animals?" Here are my thoughts.
I uploaded this on my channel earlier this year, but I decided to re-upload it in memory of a friend that suddenly and shockingly passed away. I reflected and prayed on the tragedy and the aftermath and decided to write this to reach others and let them know that if there’s anyone out there that has these dark struggles- that there’s hope. True hope that doesn’t fade or let you down. You’re not alone. Jesus didn’t come to Earth to not know how it feels to be human. God became His creation. He’s not a god that is far away, far from suffering and human pain. He entered into this mess, and He’s in your mess. No matter what you’ve done He loves and will forgive you. It’s not an empty victory, filled with endless desolate affirmations and a god that doesn’t know how to handle our mountain of sin or doesn't care about your pain. This is what true victory looks like.
In many ways I wanted this to demonstrate the Old and New Covenants. God became His own creation to pay the just penalty for sin that we could never pay. He took our place, the righteous for the unrighteous. *This* is the atonement. I mean... wow. "For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."- 2 Corinthians 5:21.
I filmed this with three different cameras, over six hours of footage. The editing itself was a total rollercoaster, wild and unpredictable. To me, the video is just as much art as the painting itself. I hope you all enjoy it. I worked very hard on it.

Is there a better way to talk to and treat those you disagree with? Does loving others with who we vastly disagree mean we have to sacrifice our theology (and humanity) to do it? Where do we draw the line? Does the topic of Calvinism, atheism, politics, LGBTQ+, or other contentious topics deeply anger you to the point of being aggressive and reactively lashing out about it?
How can we act more Christlike instead of looking like angry politicians in disagreement? I asked Dr. Sean McDowell on to talk about how we can accomplish this as well as asking his advice on how we can have real Biblical unity without compromising.

What in the crazy is happening in the world? The pressure Christians are under to buckle and give in to this ever-growing secular culture is unlike what we've seen in most of our lifetimes. How can we navigate through the cultural mess when there are so many loud voices in our faces pressuring us to compromise our values and God, and if we don't, then we're seen as bigoted, hateful, and close-minded? (Not to mention it's ten times harder to know we've even been seduced when most Christians don't read or study their Bibles.) We're ridiculed for standing for truth that corresponds to reality. Christians are accused of having the worst possible motives when we simply believe that there's a reason to live for truth, justice, and love from a Biblical perspective. How can we remain faithful in a culture that is becoming more and more aggressively hostile to the Christian faith? Here is one lifeline: This book.
There are a few books on my shelf that are marked up and tabbed. I refer to these books often. This is one of them. This is one of the best books I've read about this topic, and possibly Natasha's best book she's written yet. (Which is saying something!) Reading Natasha's book was refreshing, thought-provoking and encouraging.
02:09- How are those with a Biblical worldview a minority?
11:15- How has secularism changed how Christians believe and live?
17:21- Feelings are the ultimate guide, happiness is the ultimate goal, judging is the ultimate sin, and God is the ultimate guess.
29:13- Thoughts on how Christians can respond to deconstruction stories.

In addition to new age confusion in the church, sexual, moral, and theological confusion abound in our culture. Christ-followers are called to combat these false ideas that stand in the way of the Gospel. To effectively engage with this post-Christian culture, you will need a deeply integrated understanding of theology, philosophy, and apologetics—the bedrock of a degree from Southern Evangelical Seminary and Bible College (SES). SES is actually where I currently attend, and they offer accredited degrees and certificates that use this integrated approach to equip you to proclaim the Gospel, engage the culture, and defend the truth. John 14:12 says: "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."
Does this verse teach that we will do greater miracles, wonders, and signs than Jesus did? If so, then why don't we see this? Is it even possible that any human being can do anything greater than God in the flesh did? A common misinterpretation by many hyper-charismatic leaders is that we are indeed to do more than Jesus did. But there are logical and theological issues with this. Mike does a good job bringing clarity to this verse.

What's up with the doctrine of Hell? Many Christians struggle with this concept. Jesus clearly talks about it, and it seems to be a logical end if God is Just. But even then, many people still have questions about it. When I was in the New Age, I believed that pretty much everyone would eventually make it to heaven. I interviewed Clay Jones about annihilationism, universalism, how Hell makes sense with a loving God, and much more.
Clay Jones is a visiting scholar at Talbot School of Theology and chairman of the board at Ratio Christi. He holds a Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
03:21- Eternal suffering, annihilationism, or universalism- What is your view of hell and why?
10:53- A great example of the justification for an eternal Hell.
15:33-What are your thoughts on universalism and if this is a biblically serious position?
29:02- How does hell make sense in the light of people suffering here on Earth?
35:46- Are there different levels of punishment in hell?
38:00- Why would good people go to hell?

Ah yes... the constant social media battles over Saturnalia... the virtual face punches over why we shouldn't have Christmas trees... the neverending drone of the supposed origins of Christmas... It's that time of year again!
Judy McJudgerson, the contentious Keyboard Warrior, is apparently Emma's neighbor. (Who people love to hate!) She usually hides behind her keyboard to deliver her very vocal disagreements over non essential beliefs. She doesn't like that Emma gave her a Christmas card which is associated with the evil and pagan origins of Christmas. But... is celebrating the birth of Jesus actually pagan?
Yes, I know people will be very angry and critical of this very mediocre satire video. I hope my brothers and sisters in Christ don't cancel me for disagreeing and having another opinion about this *very* non-essential belief. Some will be offended no matter what.
Merry CHRISTmas.

Sketchy things I used to believe in the new age. #3- Psychics were just misunderstood prophets, a spiritual gift from God to correct all those legalistic Christians who always mess everything up.
