RC car diff repair: How to maintain RC car diffs and stop grinding
This video shows you how to maintain RC car diffs. If you already own a WLToys 144001 then you may have come across videos with a grinding sound coming from the car or in fact have the grinding sound yourself.
My video here shows the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utn6tDaa48w& This is a step by step video with picture and arrows showing the location of the screws and the screw types.
It seems it is happening because there is simply not enough grease in the differential at the front or the rear. So if you own a new 144001 or even an older one and have not put grease into the differential's then I suggest you do so before you get the bad grinding sounds. It not a case of "if" you get the grinding sound but "when"! This video is not intended for the hard core owners that already know how to strip down and rebuild their 144001 in their sleep but for new owners, or parents of kids wishing for their childs Christmas present to last longer than 3 days! ?
