Huge ANTIQUE MALL SHOPPING | RESELLING VINTAGE | THRIFTING for BARGAINS! We're shopping late at this place! Luckily we're here during their 4th Friday BYOB evening event, so we can stay after hours and do a deep search of this gigantic antique attraction. I follow@Crazy Lamp Lady and @FlyingPigThrifts upstairs in Columbia, Pennsylvania's Burning Bridge Antique Market, as we quest for the fun and fabulous things we might flip for a profit. Puzzling over the purpose of a homemade pulpit, we head towards a showcase with a Blue Mountain Pottery vase you just never see! Canada seems to be the theme of this case, with Players Cigarette tins and Canada Dry cigarette lighters. We see an unusual German Nubian bust...and that's just walking up the stairs! This place has variety that spans 1885-1985, so there's fascination for a lot of collectors here. I show a Pottery Craft vase that lets us give tribute to the women who decorated it, then hit a good modernist space with MCM Heywood-Wakefield and a great lamp...adjacent to a really nice Victorian coverlet and 1910s Devil Ware from Royal Bayreuth. A gallery of paint-by-numbers and a 1950s pottery that cured boredom are extra surprises! So much fun shopping with people who like and appreciate what you like! We get to the counter and leave with a pretty good pile of things, including the Haeger earth wrap pillar candle holder that made it to the Thrift Battle finale @Prime Time Treasure Hunter ! It's sure fun to do this stuff in the real world too. A surprise trip to a northern city results in an invitation to comb an entire house for treasures! Join me as I go in cold to a house I’ve never seen and ferret out antique and vintage to buy and sell. You see how I approach a fresh house, and what catches my eye as we play find and seek through its two stories and basement. It’s a typical 1940s home with a 40-year accumulation, so I highlight everything I see that stands out for its age, then wrap up with a short “haul video” of my selections! Since this video is about resale shopping at an estate, I talk more extensively about what I spend and hope to make on what I’m buying and reselling. Greeted with a buy-worthy mirror just inside the door, I get excited about the prospects, ultimately spending $500 (and hoping to at least double my money)! A 1920s tiled table, painted French dresser jars and a hard-to-find original 1930s Fiesta console set leap out from the assorted and unsorted. How do you tell a Mexican table from American? Should I buy Florence figurines, or Studio Nova? Which cute dogs are the ones worth buying? What makes one yellow step stool better than the next? I try to inform as I shop, explaining what I see in the marketplace that makes me take one item over the next (and why I’m passing up great reselling opportunities on newer items). I also give a grave warning to the wise about a particular type of antique fire extinguisher. A spooky looking basement offers a weird medical device, sparkling shoes and a tunnel of tools, while upstairs reveals boudoir finds, barware and one of the cutest anthropomorphic dog prints ever! The cameraman has a strange encounter with piano figurines, while I play show-and-tell with my finds. We leave no stone unturned and go home happy while helping out a friend.
