Minnesota prosecutors want to introduce 2017 arrest of 14-year-old in Derek Chauvin trial

Prosecutors in the upcoming trial of a former Minneapolis police officer charged with killing George Floyd want to introduce evidence of a 2017 arrest in which they say the officer held his knee on the back of a 14-year-old boy and ignored his pleas that he couldn’t breathe.
Assistant Attorney General Matthew Frank, in a memorandum filed in Hennepin County District Court, said the body camera video that captured the boy’s arrest shows that Derek Chauvin uses unreasonable force when dealing with a suspect who does not immediate comply with his orders.
Chauvin’s attorney, Eric Nelson, argued that the force used in the 2017 arrest was in keeping with department’s then-policy on dealing with uncooperative suspects.
Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill has yet to rule on the memorandum. The four former officers are expected to stand trial in state court in March.

A Russian YouTuber named Stas Reeflay has been arrested by police for live streaming a gruesome video where his pregnant girlfriend dies after Reeflay’s viewers paid to see her abused.
Thirty-year-old Reeflay forced his girlfriend Valentina Grigoryeva, 28, into the subzero cold upon the request of a viewer, who paid him $1,000 to see it.
According to the reports, Grigoryeva died of suspected hypothermia as Reeflay forced her to stay in the cold for a long time.
Reeflay, whose real name is Stanislav Reshetnikov, even kept recording after he realized she was “half-dead.” Reshetnikov carried her back inside and attempted to revive her. Tens of thousands of his followers continued watching the video as he called an ambulance. When the paramedics arrived, they pronounced her dead.
Reshetnikov was arrested by police and was interrogated over the broadcast and his girlfriend's death.
