Shouldn't the masks have prevented it from spreading, since masks were already in widespread use over there prior to the "pandemic?" 2.) If masks actually prevent the spread of infectious disease in any meaningful or significant way, shouldn't infectious disease in Asia have been irradicated well before the "pandemic," since masks have been used in very significant percentages for decades? If the masks actually stopped spread of infectious disease then there shouldn't be any today and the masks would no longer need to be used. 3.) Even if the masks work, is it really a better option than evolving past any new illnesses without needing a paper or cloth rag on our faces for the rest of our lives? Doesn't the downside of loss of a significant part of our ability to communicate as humans outweigh any ability to spread infectious disease, especially when they're used for significant periods of time. 4.) What is the endgame on mask wearing? Are we just supposed to wear them forever? 5.) If masks are essential, then why has no animal (even those who travel in significant packs with little to no hygiene [when not around water] or social distancing) ever evolved to have a natural version of one covering their face? There may be tiny exceptions but the vast majority of mammals have unobstructed breathing holes. The fur always stops around the mouth to allow for smooth breathing. If we need masks to stay healthy then why have we not evolved to have them? 6.) If the masks are supposed to be sanitary items, then why are they sold in gas stations for 2.00$ and often have no packaging? [Remember that these "medical devices" are essentially gas station novelty items and are sufficient for compliance with state executive orders] 7.) If the masks are supposedly stopping a highly infectious contagious disease, aren't they a biohazard risk? Why are they not required to be disposed of in biohazard waste bins? Isn't having a bunch of infected face diapers laying around everywhere a biohazard risk? And yet they ARE laying around everywhere, from beaches to parks to parking lots. 8.) Many of the people who wear the masks need to pull them down for other people to understand them, thus defeating the purpose of them in the first place. How can this ever be a viable solution? 9.) Why were there studies for decades (including a meta analysis by the CDC prior to the pandemic) on the use of them (even in medical settings) for infectious disease control mostly unable to show any meaningful change in transmission or infection rates? [keep in mind the mask industry is now over a 100 billion dollar a year industry so there is significant pressure to show their effectiveness, for purely fiduciary reasons] 10.) At what point does the environmental impact of billions of masks plus the extra mass of trash from production in the oceans outweigh disputed marginal and controversial benefits of mask wearing? 11.) Does it make any sense that masks are required in a restaurant where people will be eating and drinking anyway? 12.) If a person coughs into a mask, isn't that bacteria then stuck in the fibers of the mask, and then breeding with other bacteria and fostering mold growth in the warm and damp environment of the mask fibers? 13.) Isn't it better to use cough/sneeze ettiquete than a mask, because if you sneeze or cough into your elbow it blocks the droplets and then they are on your elbow instead of stuck on your face, where you will be breathing through and thus dispersing into the ambient environment. Isn't that like coughing or sneezing into a handkerchief then not changing it? 14.) Even if you believe the mask works under sterile condition, is a child really able to keep a mask clean enough to have any type of benefit? 15.) Is a child going to develop proper social skills with a lack of human contact through social distancing and facial expressions? [Remember that countless studies have been done on the importance of facial contact for children and young babies with their parents. There are many nonverbal cues that the baby takes from the mother, which when removed cause the baby to become agitated, and this data can easily be extrapolated into relevancy for adults.] 16.) How could the virus have gone all the way around the world in less than a month to every state in the US with significant case reporting, and yet a year later you haven't already come in contact with it? 17.) Are you aware of the possibility of nano and micro particles of fabric getting stuck in your lungs from longterm sustained mask usage?
