We were so excited to shoot out first wedding in Saldanha Bay, this west coast town in South Africa was the perfect setting for Chanel and Daniels beautiful wedding. We hope you enjoy this highlights video we made for them.
We have been thinking of maybe doing some behind the scenes videos. If this is something you would be interested in please let me know in the comments.
This whole wedding was shot on a Nikon D500 and a Nikon D7100. The drone shots were all done on the DJI Spark.
This beautiful wedding took place at De Uijlenes, a beautiful country side wedding venue situated in the Western Cape of South Africa, about a hour and a half away from Cape Town.
Rudi & Louise were such an amazing couple and we were so lucky to share their big wedding day with them.
Entire wedding shot on my Fujifilm X-T2 as main camera and Fujifilm Xt20 and second. The Xt2 was mounted on the Zhiyun Tech Crane 2 as the camera does not have IBIS. (In Body stabilization) The new Fujifilm X-H1 does have built in ISIS and I can't wait to shoot with the new X-H1 . Fujifilm was kind enough to send me a loan unit that is arriving early this week.
My normal shooting profile is Classic Chrome, its what you see here straight out of camera with no color grading or adjustments. I just love the look of the Classic Chrome that I don't edit it at all.
I shoot at 60fps as I like to slow everything down for that dramatic and cinematic effect.
Most of the wedding was filmed on the Fujifilm 35mm f1.4 lens and the Fujifilm 90mm f2 lens.

We loved Anna and Andre from the first day we met. The love this couple has for each other is so beautiful and heart warming. We really had such a great time sharing their day with them. Hope you enjoy the highlights of their wedding.
The wedding took place at the Winchester Mansions, Cape Town.

As long as I can remember my dad has painted. He spends most nights in his home studio painting everything from Sports Hero's to animals and portraits.
I visited him last night and filmed some clips of him in action.
The video was filmed on my old trusty Fujifilm X-T2 with the 35mm f1.4 on the Zhiyun Tech Crane 2.
The scenes were lit with standard tube light.

It's here!! We finally got our DJI Ronin S and was able to shoot a wedding on it. Best decision ever. The DJI Ronin S is a fantastic gimbal with an amazing app that allows for precision calibration on the go! We are super happy with the results we got from the DJI Ronin S. Our Zhiyun Crane 2 will now be used by our second shooter. Which is still in its own way a great gimbal.

We shot in Fujifilm's new F-Log profile that came with the latest X-T2 firmware upgrade.

I have recently started shooting on a very special project with extremely talented Georgia East. This is just a little montage from our first week of shooting in the West Coast of South Africa.

For the very first time, I am posting a video shot on the Fujinon MK Cinema Lenses. The footage was shot on Fujifilm X-H1 and Fujifilm X-T3. Most of the footage seen here was shot on the Fujinon MK 18 - 55mm T2.9 handheld with the Fujifilm X-H1.
Aerials were shot on DJI Mavic 2 Pro.

Fujifilm South Africa was kind enough to let me use this amazing lens for a few days. Luckily there is a game reserve only about 30 minutes from my house. So this was the perfect opportunity to take this lens for a spin. This was my first time ever using this kind of lens as I mostly only use the Fujinon 50 - 140mm f2.8. I was really surprised at how good the imagine stabilization on the lens was and as well as the video I got handheld.
Fujifilm introduces the XF 200mm F/2.0 R LM OIS WR telephoto prime lens specifically designed for APS-C camera systems. Being super intelligent and even super-fast in the XF lens lineup, with a blistering aperture of f/2.0 that performs exceptionally well in low-light conditions to produce astonishing high-quality and sharp images, and a focal length equivalent to 305mm in 35mm film format.
Photographers will truly appreciate the quality of the Fujifilm XF 200mm f/2.0 R LM OIS WR lens as it utilizes a lens configuration of 19 elements in 14 groups that includes 2 ED elements and 1 Super ED element that contributes to crisp sharp images and to effectively reduce flare and ghosting entering the lens; a rounded 9-blade diaphragm that produces beautiful bokeh; maximum aperture of f/2.0 to f/22 that’ all packed into this robust, yet compact body weighing only 2,265g. This is the perfect choice for sports, wildlife, and even wedding photography.

I never even knew this town existed until we were asked to shoot some content for the local hotel. This short video is what we got up to the 3 days we spent in Arniston.
Arniston is a small seaside settlement in the Overberg region on the Cape South coast, close to Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa. Prior to the loss of the Arniston, it was known as Waenhuiskrans, an Afrikaans name meaning literally "Wagon house cliff", after a local sea cave large enough to accommodate a wagon and a span of oxen. Its a hot spot for sunken treasure hunters as about 150 ships have sunk around the coastal town.
In May 1815, a British East Indiaman, the Arniston, was rounding the Cape in convoy on a journey to repatriate wounded English soldiers from Ceylon. The ship lacked a chronometer – an expensive instrument at the time – and consequently had to rely on other ships in the fleet to calculate the longitude of the group. After being separated from the convoy in heavy seas, the captain of the Arniston was obliged to rely solely on dead reckoning to navigate. Thinking incorrectly that he was 100 miles (160 km) west of the Cape of Good Hope, the master steered north for St Helena and ran the ship onto the rocks at Waenhuiskrans. Only six of the 378 souls on board survived the wrecking
I had my Fujifilm XT2 with the Zhiyun Crane with me as always.

Thank you to Joleen and Nicky for sharing their amazing day with us. This wine estate/ farm style wedding venue offered some awesome mountain views as well as a great variety of shooting locations.
It was probably the hottest day of the year, shooting this wedding in 40' C. The Fujifilm X-T2 could not handle the heat and shut down a couple of time from overheating. However, the Fujifilm X-H1 faired a little better in the African sun.

Entire wedding shot on my Fujifilm X-H1 as the main camera and Fujifilm X-T2 and second. The X-H1 was mounted on the DJI Ronin S with the Fujifilm X-H1's in body IS working with the Ronin S. The second X-h1 was mounted on a Zhiyun Crane 2.
We shot in Fujifilm's beautiful Classic Chrome film simulation for this one.
We shoot at 50fps as I like to slow everything down for that dramatic and cinematic effect. Some shots like the confetti we do shoot on Fujifilm's new 100fps simulated mode.
