Wonderful World (version 0.946) - VS CPU (Ryuza)

(Please note that this video is a remake of an older video I previously published)

Originally released around November 2006 (as version 0), Wonderful World is a fighting game developed by ainefill, made using 2D Fighter Maker 2nd. This game would later be further developed, adding new characters and balance patches as time went on (with the latest version being 0.946, released around November 2022), with more characters being under development according to ainefill's website.

Wonderful World has a control scheme similar to that of Guilty Gear, with the same basic attack buttons (Punch, Kick, Slash, and Heavy Slash) allowing you to do chain combos for damage, in addition to having the ability to airdash. There's also the Special Button (SP), which has a variety of uses, and the "Original Action" button (O), both of which I'll get into later.

Meter is used for Skill Breaks (a move-canceling technique performed by pressing the SP button in a certain window during a special move, costing half a bar of meter), super attacks (using one bar), as well as certain character-specific abilities. Skill Breaks have some limitations over how they are used - whenever it works depends on the move, and whether said attack hits, misses, or was blocked. In addition, using a skill break will cause the Cooldown Meter to appear in your HUD, which temporarily stops your Skill Gauge from regenerating for five seconds.

Anyways, these character-specific abilities ("Original Abilities") can be done using the "Original Action" button (O), and can serve a wide variety of uses - for example, Ryuza's Original Ability grants him EX special moves (costing half a bar), while Duna's Original Ability has her shoot out a slow-moving lightning orb by pressing the button, and that could later activate as a lightning strike upon activation (or by pressing O). Some characters, like Sabe, do not have original abilities at all, though.

Another resource to look out for is the Counter Gauge, which builds up if you block attacks or are hit. The Counter Gauge can be used for a variety of defensive tactics, which include the Moment Attack (during blockstun, P + K), a guard-cancel get-off me attack that costs three Counter Gauge bars, the Force Revival (during hitstun, P + SP), a burst attack that while not invincible pushes your opponent quickly for five Counter Gauge bars, and the Fatal Switch (during blockstun, SP), which costs two Counter Gauge bars and reduces blockstun.

The game's single-player mode is pretty interesting in itself. You get to choose from three difficulties, with the hardest setting being the most interesting. Not only does the opponent CPU put up an actual fight here, but you also face off against a super-buffed version of Rosalice. This boss-only version has several special moves that have additional properties and deal significantly more damage overall (for example, boss Rosalice's attacks could generate orbs that shoots out beams after a while on hit or whiff, and Zermalmen (214K, a falling hammer attack) now creates an explosion that cannot be blocked standing, also dealing a crap ton of damage if you are hit by her hammer's initial hitbox).
