The World Economic Forum's (WEF) managing director, Adrian Monck, was recently interviewed by CBC and claimed that Canadians expressing concerns about WEF influence on Canada were engaging in 'conspiracy theories'. This video rebuts his claims and shows that the WEF are climate misinformers. Despite the fact that the WEF claim to act with 'moral and intellectual integrity', they hosted the unvetted Greta Thunberg several times, claiming that 'our house is on fire' and 'I want you to panic.' But in testimony to US Congress on April 21, 2021, Greta stated there is 'no science' behind these frightening statements, they are 'just metaphors.' CLINTEL, a group of over 1200 scientists and scholars has requested a high level scientific meeting with WEF to explain their position that there is no climate emergency - to date the response has been 'crickets'. Adrian Monck said that Canadians have more important things to be concerned about - which is true. In this video, Michelle Stirling, Communications Manager for Friends of Science Society, shows that one of the most important things is the debt that Canada now bears - a debt which stems from advice and direction during COVID of World Economic Forum trustees like Mark Carney and Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland. Despite their apparent global economic experience or exposure, somehow neither see fit to recommend that Canada exploit the ~$21 TRILLION gross value of resource riches (Cdn$13 Trillion net). Canadians are right to have many questions about the undue influence of the unelected, unaccountable World Economic Forum and its network of partners on Canadian policies. Does the media suffer from "Carbon TAX-o-phobia? The media seem to be afraid to say anything about the carbon tax when they report on rising prices and the cost of living. They never mention the carbon tax. In this simple video, we do a tiny bit of math to show how the carbon tax is cumulative, and how the pennies add up in no time. Worst of all, scientist have now come to the conclusion that carbon dioxide is not the control knob that can 'fine tune' climate, so taxing carbon dioxide will not stop climate change. Why are you being taxed for it at all?

Carbon NetZero: A Ridiculous Solution to an Imaginary Problem - Dr. Patrick Moore presents a bit of his personal history as a Greenpeace Warrior, and now a compendium of his work as a warrior for common sense on climate and environmental problems. Drawing on some of the work from his book "Fake and Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom," Dr. Moore exposes many of these climate and environmental myths. (Note: Friends of Science is apolitical. We appreciate that the Wildrose Liberty Coalition gave us the opportunity to record Dr. Moore's presentation.) On June 24, 2019, twenty-eight Canadian law professors sent an open letter, [http://ubccle.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Climate-Litigation-LawProfsLetter_final2-1.pdf] demanding a Climate Accountability Litigation law so that cities and other such organizations could sue global Big Oil companies for 'climate damages'. They claim extreme weather events, like flooding, is caused by human influence on climate - something that is untrue according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) SREX - Special Report on Extreme Weather. They claim that society has to bear 100% of the brunt of climate costs - in the meantime these ingrates don't realize that their own universities and faculties are propped up with millions of dollars in donations from Big Oil, oil philanthropists and thousands of oil/gas supply chain companies, entrepreneurs and donors. Friends of Science issued a report entitled "Case Dismissed" which exposes the fallacies of these law professors' claims on climate science. Case Dismissed – An Open Letter to Law Professors Pushing for Climate Accountability Legislation in Canada Robert Lyman, one of our contributors, also issued his own report "Energy Illiteracy Must Not Be Enshrined in Law" Energy Illiteracy v Climate Law – A Response To “An Open Letter on Climate Accountability Litigation in Canada”

Climate policies have consequences. In Kitchen Table Talks #1, we look at the recently released "Blueprint" report, put together by a number of climate activist organizations and public figures like Mark Carney. The plan proposes that to address Canada's housing crisis, municipal governments should abandon zoning regulations and normal public review of proposed projects, and that high density construction should be incentivized along transit routes. Part of the way the Canadian government plans to address the housing shortfall is by creating a small selection of pre-approved housing plans. They also advocate for new housing methods and materials like mass timber, prefab homes, low-carbon cement and to build homes to the higher NetZero building standards and electrification. They claim this will result in more affordable housing and that 5.8 million homes can thus be built between now and 2030 or so. This video takes a look at how and why the historical "Victory Homes" project served the men returning from World War II, and why this new plan seems destined to have some serious unintended consequences and hidden costs. While the "Blueprint" plan theorizes that building within the cities, where there is established infrastructure for water/sewage/electricity, there will likely be significant, very expensive upgrades required for the densification proposed. This plan sounds like something many cities and residents would reject, but in order to push it through, the "Blueprint" proposes that any infrastructure funding from the federal government be directly tied to an agreement by the provinces and municipalities to make the sweeping legislative zoning changes noted above. As well, the construction of anything means there will be significant emissions, so it is hard to believe that this plan will result in a 'low-carbon' outcome. These frantic efforts to cut carbon emissions for housing stem from the unscientific, implausible scenario known as RCP 8.5, which Infrastructure Canada uses for its "Climate Lens" baseline for funding. RCP 8.5 is the source of the mistaken claim there is a climate emergency. Please review the "Blueprint" plan and consider what it might mean for your community. People often rely on a few pat statements about climate science, that seems to affirm 'the truth' for them. But science is about inquiry, not consensus or compliance. CLINTEL, the climate intelligence think tank out of The Netherlands, has over 1,100 signatories (as of Aug. 25, 2022) to the World Climate Declaration that explains many important climate science insights, to help people understand there is no 'single' or simple way to address climate change. Likewise, there is no reason to fear climate change if we are prepared, using technology and science to respond to an either warmer or cooler world. This is a fun little clip that invites you to "Join our Journey" on the path to climate realism. For more information about CLINTEL, please see their website. https://clintel.org/
