SRI AUROBINDO: «Lines from the highest intuitive mind-consciousness, as well as those from the overmind, can have a mantric character — the rhythm too may have a certain kinship with mantric rhythm, but it may not be the thing itself, only the nearest step towards it.» [Letters (10 July 1931)].
Ludwig van Beethoven - Konzert für Violine und Orchester D-Dur · II Larghetto [Op. 61] Violin: Daniel Lozakovich Director: Valery Gergiev Munich Philharmonic
Tommaso Iorco: «Even higher, in a similar multi-plateau mountain of the Muses, the domain of the "intuitive mind" shines, and the kingdom of Intuition, where the inspired vibrations rings and radiates. There, we find ourselves not only in the presence of a light, a beauty and a majesty greater than those present in the previous degrees, but also of a joy, of an ecstatic recognition of the values of suprarational beauty. The musical example still belongs to Beethoven» [L’arte poetica].
SRI AUROBINDO: «There is a psychic sorrow which usually comes when the soul feels how strong is the resistance in the world and how much the Forces in it rage against the Mother.» [Letters].
SRI AUROBINDO: «The psychic sadness is of a purifying and not a depressing kind.» [Letters].
Johann Sebastian Bach – Erbarme dich, mein Gott [Matthäuspassion, BWV 244]
Contralto and director: Nathalie Stutzmann
Violinist: Satomi Watanabe
String Orchestra: Orfeo 55
Tommaso Iorco: «[…] the artistic expression of that particular soul condition that Sri Aurobindo calls “psychic sadness” (a sort of seraphic and loving piety, explains Mother): it hovers in the prelude of Richard Wagner's Tristan und Isolde and vibrates persuasively in a piece by Johann Sebastian Bach, contained in the Matthäuspassion [BWV 244]: it is one of the most beautiful arias of baroque music, entitled Erbarme dich, mein Gott. The violin and the voice are poignant, however the contralto must not weigh down the score with gloom accents, typical of the vital and not of the psychic.» [L’arte poetica].

Presentazione del videodocumentario in tre parti:
1) l'immensamente grande
2) l'infinitamente piccolo
3) l'incredibilmente complesso
Durata 90 minuti
