In this sequel to my last video, comparing the pre-race shows to the 1992 Hooters 500 and the 2012 Ford EcoBoost 400, I now move the 2012 broadcast ahead two hours to the end of ESPN's Countdown program. Thank you to Troggle84 for the idea.
Note the timer Nicole Briscoe brings up at 00:04, which says the green flag for the 2012 race will fly in 20 minutes and 26 seconds. To put this timer to task, I synced up the clips so the start of the 1992 Hooters 500 is exactly 20 minutes and 26 seconds from that point (which again is 20 minutes and 30 seconds from the start of the 1992 broadcast). Other than cropping to fit both videos in the same frame, both videos are otherwise unedited.
Wanna bet that both races go green at the same time? The answer might surprise you.
Note again the difference in content between both pre-race broadcasts. Which one mentions statistics about drivers other than the championship contenders? How about Alabama doing the Star-Spangled Banner in 1992 vs. what's-his-name in 2012? How about all those commercial breaks they manage to sandwich into those twenty minutes in 2012 (yes, the 1992 broadcast is a satellite feed, but you can tell the breaks by when Bob Jenkins goes silent)?
And how about the Kid Rock 400 presented by Kid Rock and Those Sparta Dudes From 300?
Sheesh.

I recorded this from the pit stall next to Hemric's, starting with the final restart and continuing into the first part of the victory celebrations.

Darlington!
Featuring an all-new layout. :) Please let me know what you think of this setup one way or the other; I don't want these grids to become too cluttered.
