State Dinner Preview at the White House after some arrests in the Senate.
Started the day with people getting arrested in a dining room, and ended it eating cake at the White House before the Japanese Prime Minister's State Visit tomorrow. Pretty wild day.

He is an American expat who spent the last decade in Hong Kong with his family and is now back in Washington DC, continuing his daily ritual of taking very long hikes around the city catching the sights and sounds of the city while live streaming to share with others. All I had planned to do today was get a hotdog, but no sooner had I arrived at the White House then I discover someone getting arrested, for something. I still don't know what. This wasn't a 'picnic arrest' like we saw at the US Capitol but a welcome to the paddy wagon arrest. I then managed to catch the VP coming and going from the White House, and while I was walking on the Ellipse took a gander over at the Truman Balcony. With the Bannon decision coming soon, I ducked into the National Gallery of Art to grab some lunch, look at a few paintings and then make a dash over to the Courthouse just in time to see him emerge.
A pretty busy day indeed.

We saw a few motorcades today, including the Crown Prince of Bahrain, the Vice President, and likely the DNI. We also had a nice view of Marine One heading off to Delaware as I worked a bit more to figure out the new camera lens. Tomorrow though, the truckers arrive. Maybe.

Today was kind of best laid plans all fouled up. I went out to a great location to see the Trucker's / People's Convoy, only to discover (after I set up) that the police had forced them to stay out of the downtown area. They ended up doing a very large detour and eventually made their way into town, but then it was too late. I also managed to catch the motorcade last night taking Joe Biden to a. very fancy fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee.
