would-a-spartan-drive-a-mini-jeep
So in our must have stuff for your Jeep, this is for Steve-O, an uncracked windshield. Yeah, we love you, Steve, but you know, you went on and on about stickers and windshields and you got a cracked one. Oh, what we'll really be talking about is, and this is interesting, I think, T-slot nuts for Toyota Tacoma bed rails. And you're not cursing your Jeep because they're not technically made by Toyota. They are just stuff that was made for a Toyota. And you can use this on your Mopar trail rails in your Gladiator. - Hi, I'm Bill. And how are we pulling this episode off out at EJS? - It's the miracle of science. Halo, female spartan.
Oh, trust me, I know. I could tell the difference when I'm commuting with the four door or the two door. - Well, do you ever try to baby it and see if you get more out of it? I mean, I know that's not fun, but. - Actually the fuel economy is not bad. I mean, I'll get 14, 15 commuting with it, but you gotta run premium fuel. - Oh, that's right. - Regular, right? - Yeah, I would not like that.
So rumors are flying around about Jeep and Toyota developing a compact four by four. And they're throwing these terms around of like real four by four, which I think is interesting because, and don't take this as the renegade because the renegade's on its way out. So this isn't something that they're gonna be doing with a renegade. And God bless you, I love you. You know, you're a jeeper, but if you got a renegade, believe me, it's a mercy killing because that is not a robust four wheel drive. It doesn't have the huge aftermarket behind it either. So I think this is great. But Bill, have you heard anything about this? It was brand new to me when I heard about it just a couple of days ago. And I think this kind of goes along in the same vein as that $10,000 or $12,000 Toyota pickup. You know, the bare bones little pickup that they're coming out with or have come out with? - Yeah, I mean, you know, to me, it looks like you're taking a crossover and then, you know, putting four wheel drive on it and calling it an off-roader, right? So maybe some all-terrain tires, but as long as you have all that plastic fascia crap like hanging down in the front or the rear, you're not gonna be doing any type of real trails, right? That may have some rocks or obstacles. Those are gonna be the first things that are gonna get taken off, right? A real off-roader vehicle is not gonna have that. It's gonna have, you know, steel bumpers or some skids or, you know, they'll be set up to deal with that. So I don't know. There's a segment there, right? A large segment of people that don't hit the trails or take the dirt so that maybe they want the look and the four wheel drive maybe for the snow or whatever. But, you know, for a lot of the type of wheeling that a lot of us do that listen to this show, you know, this is kind of a no-go.
