We all waste time on apps and feel very bad after. The apps are designed to grab your attention and keep it.
This video is an example of a really simple idea I'm using to avoid overusing apps that I don't want to delete but also don't want to use to much.
By adding an extra layer of uncomfortable friction via needing to swipe right excessively, you create a mental opening to just say "nevermind" and resist the unconscious urge to open the app and waste your time.

I decided to stop hiding the negative thoughts I have when things aren't going well. This has been something I've been dealing with for the last few months and overall for my entire adult life.
It's really hard being up and great for a couple of months and then completely down for the next few. This is a cycle I've been dealing with from age 16.
I want this channel to be more than just me sharing the great ideas and inspirations that go through my head, but something much more inclusive for myself as a person.
When I returned to making videos during September last year I thought I had everything figured out but the "high" went away 2.5 months and 300+ videos later.
The reason I stopped making videos is because when I'm down I'm really down and usually for a few months, I can't really control it and it just happens 2-3 times per year.
During these periods I lose almost 100% of my motivation and ability to actually take action, or even care about things. It's hard to upload videos and express yourself to the world when you feel you don't have anything positive to say.
Lately I've given it a lot of thoughts and decided that it's time to take it to the next level and attempt to really express myself through YouTube and inspire people not just through my best moments but through myself as a person.
I'm the kind of guy that never asks for help and only shows face when things are awesome, it's time I change that and use this channel for more than just 1 side of things.
