About The Video: This video is of the first song I ever wrote, which was right in the prime of my puberty (yeah, I wanted to write some kind of love song to satisfy those early teen uncontrolled emotions, haha). I had no idea what I really wanted to say, it just all came out this way when I wrote it. The whole song is up for interpretation, although it was inspired by some girl that I ended up disliking. Anyway, I wanted the video to portray a typical love song video, but I also wanted to hide the message that I was kind of a selfish person and that I left a lot of good friends behind when I left my hometown. I lost a lot of good friends and I wish it didn't have to be that way, so I portrayed the idea of my absence to kinda be a bad thing on other people that could'ave used a friend. A lot of the actors in the video are actually local musicians I was lucky enough to work alongside and get to know very well with my bands here in Tucson. The storyline plays on Empires' allusions of overcoming oppression by a higher power. The "businessman" returns to an old stomping ground where he's spent time in years past. He comes to the old barn with a purpose; looking for answers to some burning questions. The "conspiracy theorist" currently calls the place home, and doesn't take kindly to the intrusion. He restrains the businessman and demands an explanation to his presence. What follows next is unclear, though the end of the video hints that a mutual agreement resulted from the encounter. The shoot took a total of approximately 12 hours. We struggled to stay warm on the cold fall day, but our planning ensured that the day went without a hitch.
